i'm an android user, but i'm a huge fans of nokia either. i suggest nokia to fire F-elop (fuc*ing elop) ASAP!
use meego as your main OS!!!!!!
at worst, throw away your pride and adopt android IF meego is not success too!!!!!
this is ridiculous, how come nokia hire such an idiot like elop to be their CEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Map is not the only point why we use a smartphone, and not the only reason Nokia not joining android bandwagon.

Hello Friends,
I have upgraded my Samsung Focus with windows 7.5 Mango. Honestly speaking its much better than crappy androids and highly priced i phones. I dont understand whats there in i phone still. After using i phones i find its really not worth that much. Windows 7.5 is a pretty decent operating system with a decent interface and many features needed for business/entertainment purpose. Nokia by integrating windows 7.5 will definetly put google into pressure.

You do know Nokia DOES do google ... moreThe main problem with Google maps in my android phone is THEY actually give the service with CHARGE since they need to be online all the time..there is no offline service.
Nokia Maps is free, no charge here for Navigate, the Maps are updated frequently and the service is so easy to use than my 6 years old niece can use it. And once Nokia Maps save me in middle of nowhere without antenna signal but Nokia Maps was online and working flawless.
No like Google Maps, once I used in my Android and goes online, then they charge (my carrier) big time payment bill just for use it, never more Google Maps for me, only on desktop :)

Not surprising at all.
Can't recall the last time they really came up with anything really exciting.
For a start, how on earth can they compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy s2 & the Apple 4s, and then there is Motorola and HTC in the mix who are also producing very advanced, inovative hansets, continually.
My advice, for a start give the Microsoft OS the spear.
GO ANDROID NOKIA!!!
GO LUCK,
YOU ARE GUNNA NEED IT IF YOU ARE TO SURVIVE!

@ The Boy with Red Hat..
You do know Nokia DOES do google maps??? I used it quite a lot, on my 5800... 'nokia maps' is a very poor version...
and then no sign of flash...
and then it just keeps getting slower..
I even tried a working N8 in store, a bit faster, but then tried the android... 'light speed' compared to nokia!
If they had done their own phone with android, (like **everyone** else!!!) they would still be top...:( :(

The point difficult for me to understand here is that Nokia inspite of being such a huge firm does not choose to give variety or choice in terms of operating systems to the consumers and themselves . People love choices so let them have it . Why not have windows and android and symbian offerings ? . I mean what stops them from doing so ? , its hard to believe they dont have the resources to do it .
Look at HTC and Samsung , even if one particular OS is supreme in the end it wont bother them a lot .
For nokia's smartphones division , lets hope that windows OS works , feature phones anyways they have a good stand but inspite of their good sales figures , i do have a funny feeling that it would also not go on for long . Smartphone business taken over by the Samsungs n HTC and feature phone business by Chinese firms .

To everyone saying Nokia should switch to Android:Nokia will NEVER switch to Android not because they are stupid, not because they do not listen to theyr fans but because doing so would mean giving up Nokia Maps(a free service) for Google Maps(a paied service) and Nokia does not want to do that
