It still will be a fast cpu.
Judging which phone is the best by benchmark number or which has the fastest cpu is silly imho. There are still other aspects worth to see.

Well that's easy. Winners: Tim CRook. Losers: All customers (Not just CRook's customers, but the ones using Android. Rising prices, notches, lack of 3.5mm jack, non-removable batteries. Everything bad in mobile industry comes from them and everyone suffers, whether he likes Apple or hates it).

Well, to ask honestly, is there something that the iPhone Xs Max has that the Note 9 doesn't??
Sure, processor isn't 7nm and isn't as powerful, and its chin is larger, but that's it.

Next iphone should remove charging port since having wires and ports seem to cause their users a huge amount of distress.
They could follow it up with onscreen volume buttons and have the power button be placed under the display in case physical buttons bother them as well.
Minimum storage next year should be 128gb follwed by 512gb and 1Tb.
People will still buy them anyway.

Also, it "arguably" has the better processor, because the Androids this year (all with SD 845) all open almost all the apps, and even some games like Asphalt etc, faster than iPhone X, and will give tough competition to this years iPhones as well.
But yes, 1100 dollar priced iPhone has higher Geekbench score so it becomes somehow worth for the fanboys, even though it is objectively slower in most of the things they do on a smartphone.

Highly disagree on Note 9 being a loser. It HAS a 3.5mm jack, No notch, more affordable comparing to the iPhone XS Max and it's lighter. (201g vs 211g)

I don't have much issue what the phones cost in the US but the real issue is what it costs outside. For instance iPhone XR, XS and XS Max in India cost around $1100, $1415 and $1575 which is ridiculously high while Samsung's ULTIMATE flagship NOTE 9 costs around $900 which is way better than paying $200 extra for cheap looking iPhone XR!

Yea...thanks to Huawei, Note 9, and the LG V40 all selling for cheaper with maybe not a better processor or cameras but with headphone jacks, beefier batteries, better displays, fast charging, expandable storage, more options via OS and, as dumb as it sounds, cheaper pricing, Apple may not have as good as sales as they did with the 7 and 8 for those who like the tradiotional look.
Their pricing is out of line. The SE 2 would have been a good idea to ease the stupidity of the notch, removal of the headphone jack and dongle, and lack of fingerprint sensor. Oh well. There will still be people buying this stuff just because of the logo (and MAYBE the camera and GPU) when the specs-sheet is less than impressive.
