You guys, all here in the comments, are so funny. You are complaining about Dxomark score, that is fake, isn't true. So, they don't understand nothing, but you understand, and you know whichphone is best for photography based in what, in what you think?

Kriegsherr, 12 Oct 2018Truth is maybe 150-200 bucks phone might not be of service ... moreSeems fair, cheaper sub-highend smartphones or older generation flagships often have much better price to performance ratio than the newest highends. You're making compromises that you won't care and that's perfectly reasonable.
Still I'd personally prefer to get the newest and greatest phone every year or 2 because I want my phone to be as fast and functional as possible all the time, but again, that's just me.

Nick Tagataka, 12 Oct 2018”that will have 95% of the capability of a mate 20 Pro”
At... moreAs well as you can clearly tell even on a phone screen how crappy a lot of photos look.
And the problem is tha5 they could be a lot better, but are not. Even with a larger sensor and high resolution the p20 pro shots are fairly bad and processed. And pro mode with raw even somehow leaves a lot to be desired.
My Nokia 808 trashes it and all others in most situations except dynamic range. But if you can tripod it with bracketing then it will trash others again.
A phone 6 years later should be able to come close or surpass out but instead we have processed garbage because everything has to ne thin and more about sky high profits. And consumers defend it and allow it to continue.
With everything they fit into the p20 pro the is no excuse for the last few years of battery and sensor size or resolution.

Moreover you might have a 3.5mm jack as extra if that's important to you. So why spend 1000 dollars? If i wanna save money i won't go.for a midrange device, rather would buy a year old flagship. Cost low still retains all the qualities i need. You can think about that.

At the end of the day cheap midrange smartphone aren't just as good as high end smartphones. You might be fine with that combination if you only care about the photography, but the most of us want to do more with our smartphones in shorter period of time. I personally don't want to get frustrated by sluggish performance and slow app opening speed, miss out calls because of a quiet and crap sounding speaker, struggle to use my phone outside because of a dim, reflective and jaggy display, charge my phone for every 6 hours, worry about water splash or wait for a few hours until the battery becomes full.
The whole point of having a phone is to do as many things as possible on a single device, and taking photos that look decent on a mobile display is one of them. Not everyone wants to carry heavy and thick separate cameras around especially when phones are already heavy enough nowadays, nor views their photo on 5K 30 inch display to examine every single details in it. Look, I completely respect your dedication to photography, but if you just want to brag how your camera can take nicer photos than smartphones, DPReview is a better place to go.

Whackcar, 12 Oct 20186.9" display? That would make the phone oversized and most ... moreProblem is that with 6.4 inch it becomes hard to justify buying this over the Note 9. You are sacrificing the 3.5mm jack and (almost certainly) superior screen for slightly better performance, slightly better battery capacity, quad camera that probably won't be that much better than the Note 9 camera and an inscreen fingerprint scanner which will probably suck since the technology is yet to mature.
