Samsung is working on an in-display front-facing camera

19 October 2018
No bezels, no notches, no chins.

Transparent OLED means the sensors would be visible when the screen is turned off or displaying black image. I hope they make a workaround on that.

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2018How will a camera be able to see THROUGH the panel though https://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-gear-s2-hands?_ga=2.98689949.2005299187.1539991208-2030989418.1516041100

I have no idea how but they already managed to hide an ambient light sensor behind the panel three years ago (see the above link). Actually I have some idea... it's transparent OLED, as mentioned in the following link: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_patent_shows_selfie_camera_may_be_behind_the_screen-news-29217.php

Dear stupid Samsung haters, if you still hate Samsung, you should hate other company too because most of the component comes from Samsung, and if you think Samsung loses, they will never be because they keep innovating and will keep making high quality components.

SKR..., 19 Oct 2018Innovation = Samsung But midrange, mehhhhhhhh! Yea. Last year's bezels were so innovative.

Let us be frank. Samsung is last to the whole bezeless race.

Xiaomo started it, Apple continued it and Oppo/Vivo almost perfect it. Sure an underscreen camera would be what makes it truly perfect but doesn't negate from the fact that Samsung is simply late.

As she is in passive biometrics (retina unlock is very insecure), performance (used to make the best SoCs) , camera performance (never topped any chart lately) and of course battery (easily one of the worst performing flagships YoY, only Note 9 kind of fixed it, but Note 4 was in fact king. So Samsung tumbled a long way in that department)

Truly bezel-free phones will be a practical nightmare, I don't see why people are so excited about it. Even on my phone with sizable bezels, my palm sometimes presses corners of the screen.
