The Maemo 6 base operating system of nokia is intact in this MeeGo/Harmattan OS. I doubt Nokia will share it for free.

Nokia Lumia 800, I abandon to buy this expensive gadget for two reason: No FM radio, and no front camera. That's all. Remember, this is very expensive gadget, and you Nokia, dont give us features which is provided by lower price gadget.

Wow, it's early days yet but i get what people are saying, it's not like people pre-order the Lumia800 and demand was sooo high that there's no stock available anywhere (instore, direct sale, internet etc). Give it time wait till the Quarter results come then will see, but having said that it's not where everyone is rushing to buy it now truthfully.
Iphone4s, Samsung GalaxyS2 and Blackeberry phone are what people in the UK are interested in, heck even the Galaxy range phones, Mini, Y, ACE.
Me i've both iphone and Android fanboy but i will always love Nokia, Personally if NOKIA release an N9532GB similar looking model slide out qwert but with a touchscreen like the BB Torch then you'll have a huge hit, 12mp Camera, Quad or Dual core, Bring back the Ngage, Ngage community, (like iphone Gamecenter) etc. Trust it might be the best selling phone...One can only dream lol.

In fact I'd say it's ahead on some things such as social and cloud integration.

the truth is that I realy enjoy teasing iPhone owners, because they are so addicted which makes them so blind (I would say even brainwashed :D)
Let's face it: you don' like N9 because everyone (well ... almost) says that it is a piece of art (it really is, no matter of apple fans wants). And if you would read just a little about the system (meego) and the capabilities of the phone (N9) and you would make an little effort to be more objective, you'll see that this phone in particular is far from "finished"
Like I've said: 4s is a beautiful piece of hardware, with a ok body, but the OS (even it may be the best in terms of security and stability) is the most annoying one that I've ever seen (a big part on that has the apple policy); that's why is an iCrap and not an iPhone (I'll never buy one as long as the apple continues that stupid policy, no matter how good will be the phone; I'd rather buy an adroid).
As for nokia - m$ partnership, I agree with you (and most of those who make comments here): is a huge mistake, but the shareholders don't really care. So all we can do is wait for its end, and for nokia to reborn (if will can)

Nokia are the best always have been always will be, but they need to keep symbian this for me has always been the best but I suppose it all comes down to personal preference which I completely understand.
I do think imo that this Windows OS is the worst move they have made, I really cannot see this catching on the interface again imo is horrible and needs an awful lot of work to win me over.
However I will stay loyal to Nokia.
If there is anyone I think is going to fail its going to be RIM they really are lagging behind and they all look the same no innovation at all.

I doubt Samsung will get the partial codes Nokia made for Meego for free. They can't copy it. Maybe Intel codes in Meego, yes! but not Nokia.

If i was MS i would announce reasonable price and start buying... However much more cheaper would be to purchase licenses for Nokia patents, than buying a sinking ship. (honestly i see no other reason MS would like to buy Nokia)

you are very wrong. it is true that the N9 hardware is kinda outdated (after all it was made to appear last year, not this one, but elop killed it in the very moment when he took the ceo chair) ... but meego rules.I also have used iCrap 4S: is a beautiful piece of hardware ... but too bad is running the most annoying OS that I ever seen; as for design ... is ok, but way below nokia's ones. Maybe you can put your glasses on now :).
As for gs2, I can't comment, because I didn't had the chance to see one yet ...
