Samsung's foldable phone to come in March for $1,770

That's based on info from industry insiders, who do not believe the phone will feature 5G. Samsung is still confident it can ship 1 million units, though.

      smartphones phones will be pretty much as Tvs prices right now,
      premium phones will be 2k € and up
      medium phones will be 600-1.4k €
      low end phones will be 300-600 €.
      Just because people keep giving 1500€ for a phone that makes almost the same as a 300€.
      Keep inflating the prices people, good job.

          Why is everybody freaking out over the price? Ofc its expensive af its a 1st gen product that introduces a whole new market of phones they dont expect to sell them like the S series or Note series its more of a working prototype that they will also sell. When or if they find out a way to make it more mainstream the device will probably be cheaper with each version

            If it was smaller on the inside, yeah maybe, also I would not early adopt into this tech, pretty sure I will get a foldable phone when there is a foldable Xiaomi. By then, everything should work fine and the phone will not look like a n-gage on the outside (if renders are true) for 1800€-2000€.

              So this baton would have a 4.24" by 5.94" screen on the inside.

              If you hold it in portrait mode, a 16:9 video would show up in a 4.24" by 2.39" area, thus having 60% of the screen displaying black bars.
              If you hold it in landscape mode, a 16:9 video would show up in a 5.94" by 3.34" area, thus having 44% of the screen displaying black bars.
              So it's not a media consumption device.

              Reading and browsing websites would be a nice experience, though. And displaying 4:3 and 3:2 pictures.

                  stupid, we don't need it. Same as we don't need curved display made by sumdung. I will newer pay that much for your that crap. Xiaomi is the way to go. Their prices are acceptable and to be honest i like miui much better than sumdungs. The only thing that Samsung have over Xiaomi is screen resolution and spen in note series which is the only decent good phone made by samsung but again to expensive. I can pay it, but there is no way, it simply hurts my intelligence. I can buy a beast of a laptop or desktop pc for that money, or even better buy xiaomi flagship + PS4 for the same money.

                                I'd take the Mate 20 X any day over this. 7.3 inches is too small for a foldable screen. I was expecting something like 8 inches at least. And the price is big no.
