Apple finally acknowledges lower-than-expected iPhone sales

In a letter to investors, Apple discusses the factors that it used to base its predictions for Q1 and factors that led it to revise its guidance 60 days later.

Exactly it's the point where people can get festival better values, people have been finally starting to see what Apple is all about and that other devices actually are better, and the price is just too much.
Especially there where the market is different.

            Lol, people are finally waking up. It's going to be an interesting year for Apple and it's CEO.

            They will have to drop prices, this will also affect those glorified resale values some people desperately hang on to when needing to buy their next iPhone, this will work like a domino effect.

            Apple need to start innovating again or this will be the beginning of the end for them.

              use an expensive iPhone for 3-4years or change another band new phone every year.It's an easy choice.I like to use new cellphone every year It's A big joy in My life.

                I think Apple made a seriously strategic mistake to introduce that so-called BUDGET XR! It is not budget in any sense with its price with its spec! And it definitely cost a lot of R&D cost and manufacturing cost to produce this XR.

                Instead XS should be treated as the entry level of 2018 and the price with XR. XS Max should price as XS.

                There are too many competitors can offer great functions and spec phone with affordable price. So why people still need to purchase the latest expensive iPhone?

                      Most of the people who request price lowering NEVER ran a business. or saw the rep drop after price lowering due to a crysiss... I DO understand that the prices apple ask are ridiculous at best, and atrocious at worst for the specs they offer. and I've heard stories of what happened to a business that lowered their prices at a whim, they simply gone bankrupt. because people lost trust in said company.
                      the key to actually get sales in an expected or above expected is to FIRST OFF price the devices wisely. according to the segment of devices the company is facing. That would mean that to successfuly face the emerging android flagships. the iPhone XS should've costed 699$ as base and at most 849$. the XS should've costed 799, and at most 1149$, and the XS max. 899 with peak prices of 1249$.
                      Android lovers do need to understand also that iPhones DO NOT use Android. and the system requirements of iOS are LESS comparing to Android. (and I do expect memes of IPHONES surviving with just 1 GB of RAM. Got ready for that too~!)
                      technically. the iPhone CAN survive with just 1 GB of RAM. but apps don't. different apps have different requirements. fornite needs atleast 1200 MB of RAM on iOS. did you know that? that's an example.
                      I am not an apple fan. I do love several aspects of them though as I know how iOS works. and I made this post to stop the non-sense of bashing apple. RESEARCH before you post. UNDERSTAND what it means for a business to lower prices. it's a LAST RESORT!

                                As we all know, wearables, apple music and icloud is very much an important part of iphone. so much so that if iphone sales dwindle down, it will automatically reduce the sales of these auxiliary products as well in the coming years.

Without signing any contract, a iPHONE XS 256GB costs more than SGD1500, even the "budget" iPHONE XR 128GB is coming at more than SGD1100, whereas other smartphones are costing way cheaper, even if it's around the SGD900s.
