HTC Wildfire S gets to Android 2.3.5 as well, no Sense 3.0 though

13 December, 2011
Much like the HTC ChaCha, though, the Wildfire S won't be getting to taste Sense UI 3.0.

Today I get newer build number 2.13.401.3 via WI-FI in Macedonia (FOTA update around 14MB size)

First I updated with 2.3.5 one months ago and the build number was 2.13.401.2, and today I update to 2.13.401.3 (also the same O.S. version 2.3.5 but with newer build number 2.13.401.3). The Sense is the same version 2.1 with 3.0 lock screen. HTC strongly recommend to installing this system update.
I hope that some bugs are fixed and may be some optimizations are made??

Updated here in India. Major Changes noticed: lock\unlock is via a ring, better battery life, more internal memory freed.

                        Hi,

My HTC Wildfire S has received the update, and now its upgraded to 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 2.1, I live in Pakistan.

Also, following statement has a mistake please fix it as I think you wanted to write "able" instead of "unable":

"We suspect this has something to do with the hardware of these not being unable to handle the latest version of the HTC home-brewed UI."

Halloo everyone who has this bug - htc wildfire s after update to 2.3.5 - cannot install or update any app from Market...
Don’t try cleaning cache and data from Download Manager and Android Market.
Lot of people solved only with uninstalling the updates from Download Manager.

(Also for me help only this):
Go to settings > applications > manage apps > all, select the download manager > clear cache > clear data and then "uninstall the update".

May be the only bug is in update for Download Manager.

I had the same problem, tried cleaning cache and data with no result.

So I went in settings > applications > manage apps > all, picked the download manager and "uninstalled the updates". It told me the app would reset to factory settings, and when I started the phone again, it was running marketplace 3.4.4 and I managed to update and install apps normally after that.

If your application has stalled at "Starting download", please use the following troubleshooting steps to help complete your download:

                                  * Confirm that your device is on the list of supported devices, which means it's supported for use with Android Market. If your device is not on this list, please contact your manufacturer with questions.
                                  * For paid applications, confirm your credit card information is up to date by signing in to your Google Wallet account.
                                  * Cancel and restart the download.
                                  * Restart your phone, then try downloading the app again.
                                  * Confirm there is connectivity to either wireless or cellular networks on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected.
                                  * Try your download(s) using both wireless and cellular network connections, and ensure firewalls aren’t blocking access to ports required for Android Market (TCP and UDP 5228).
                                  * Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Market app and the Download manager. Here's how:
                                  1. Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
                                  2. Tab over to "All"
                                  3. Select the Market app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache;" then, select Download manager and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
                                  * You must be able to successfully sign into Google Talk to download apps from Android Market. Make sure your device is signed into Google Talk by following these steps:
                                  1. Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app.
                                  2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
                                  3. Launch Talk again to sign in.
