I still use my Lumia 930 weekly along side my daily driver Moto Z Play.
They are both old but they do the job for me in budget price

I got many people to buy windows phone during 2015s, and all of the people who bought really liked those phones. Instead of shutting down, MS should sell this platform to some other company that may continue it. The OS was really smooth even on low-end phones.

SpiritWolf, 18 Jan 2019What the heck are you babbling about? There MUST be alterna... moreAll os collect your information no matter what lag-bian or windows or ios or android. Just don't do illegal things and you don't have to worry about collecting personal informations. You can't say android is bad only after using XZ3 for 3 months. Sony phones have pretty bad android os experience. Try using pixel or oneplus or samsung.

The worse thing about windows phones was they did not put better hardware and was always shy to give people better hardware at the time. And fans were defending windows phone saying the OS doesn't need more RAM, CPU speed. I felt they did not listen to the audience and did not follow the trend of giving more to the end users. Used lumia 730 for 3years. Yes i felt there was a need for better internals like CPU and RAM, ROM.. and last but not the least important factor quality apps. Some apps were not working as on their android or iOS version.

by far the most productive usable handset 2016 not even the galaxy note or iPhone came close now you pay a lot more for a lot less.
Now you can buy a $300 without the high price of a flagship and get equal productivity out it.
Android Handset are only good 2 to 3 years anyway its built in Apple IPhone 5S 2013 to 2019 6 years of updated support.

Nokia was profitable. Had a good software and OS roadmap, well ahead of it's time. Many talented and ethical coders in Nokia. Only weakness was their bruecracy. Microsoft bought Nokia for the sole purpose of destorying it, no way to spin this truth. The EU should have protected Nokia better, it would have been great for the European economy.
Today we as consumers are living in a world where privacy and security is not respected. Apps and Mobile OS have become tools to collect data.
Symbian and Meego were designed from the root up to give you security and respect your privacy. Sure both OS had their weaknesses but it was just a few steps or process of developing codes and software.

Btw Windows Phone itself already optimized enough even on low spec. Shame to them for capitalizing Nokia alot. If they focused on marketing the OS only it wouldn't cost heavily

Those who bash WinMo have clearly never used it. Look at all the people who have owned Lumias and the praise the have for WinMo, doesn't that tell you something?
I wasn't a huge fan of W8M but jumped straight in with W10M. I absolutely loved it. Compared to Android it had a beautiful interface and was so smooth. The whole user experience was superb. Tiles don't really lend themselves well to the desktop but they worked brilliantly on mobile and the app drawer was the best of all mobile OSes. I thought the Metro/Silverlight apps looked better than UWP personally but even the UWP apps looked great and again, so fluid too. Remember, don't bash WinMo unless you'd actually tried it because you look like a silly fanboi.
It wasn't just poor app support which killed WinMo, it was lack of manufacturer support too. With very very few handsets to choose from aside from Nokia's offerings, people saw WinMo as a cheap looking platform when they could have a huge choice of premium devices with Android and Apple. Even MS's last flagship the 950XL didn't look premium with its plastic removable case. Despite the UI and UX being incredibly good, the lack of apps and handsets created the perfect storm for people to stay away from WinMo.
I think MS pulled the plug too early. W10M was starting to mature and all the bugs were getting ironed out. They also had a healthy presence in budget markets so at least had some platform adoption to keep hold of. With a concentrated effort to bring devs and manufacturers on board, they could have gone some way to turning it around.
RIP WinMo, you won't be forgotten.
p.s. the Lumia 930 in black and gold is the best looking phone ever.
