This OS was obsolete the day it arrived, Microsoft had to put it on life support almost immediately by pumping $billions into development incentives and still it juts didn't grow enough.

My Samsung Focus that was released in 2010 but I got in Nov 2011 was one of my favorite phones when I first got it. It was a phone right before I moved to the Philippines. And alot of people liked it when they saw it.

I had so many nice looking girls on my contacts. Somebody stole it when I went to a bar. It was a night I went AWOL. I really did find WP to have so much potential that was never fully utilized. Microsoft just arrived too late in 2010. Has it been in early 2008 before Android, maybe a different story.

WP was smooth. No hiccups like Android those early years. While I had pretty good experiences with my three WP phones, I won't really miss the platform. It was too limiting with the apps. Couldn't really customize the screen. And nobody really had it. There was nothing that made you compelled to stay.

yes unfortunately WP was a little off with the ability to customize your phone... and those f....s
that did not develop apps because may be they were not able to steal your data as much and as easy as on android device !
Now they will suffer the totalitarianism of google !

I am still using Mi4 with windows mobile as my business phone and I am quite happy with it. I love the speed of outlook and actually there is nothing else I need. The calculator is the best I've seen and the maps are good.

Sad that they had to bring Nokia with them. On the software side, it's just another failed project for Microsoft. For the customers and the mobile market, we lost a major innovator.

But windows didnt hep them either. But at the end of the day nokia made the choice to go windows.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2019Nokia was already almost dead when MS bought it. Its situat... moreFor your kind of information, nokia was not dead they have created a new linux based beautiful os that was called MeeGo but suddenly due to microsoft they have discontinued it. There where going from scratch with meego but it was a better os and have a bright future and suddenly they decide to stop that project and focus on already established windows phone that was a wrong decision and rest is history!

There desktop windows is such a user friendly that no one can beat and it is par from greedy apple bulshit mac os which is similar like linux nothing different.
Then why you need to convince about there desktop os they are really best.
Iam proud that i have born up using microsoft windows and i have learned many technologies due to windows.

Couldn't believe I was betting on Windows Mobile just three years back, bought Lumia 950 XL but thankfully sold out off for a pittance after spending a fortune! Really surprising move from Microsoft! Not sure what they are upto in the mobility space

Am using an Alcatel Idol 4S Windows 10 Phone and well this isn’t happy news. I have a choice of a GS7 or iPhone 8. Also have a BlackBerry Z30 and a BlackBerry Bold 9900.

Microsoft doomed itself with its MONEY FIRST policy. I wanted to move to Windows App development but they had a signup fee of $99/year for the Windows Store to publish apps. So I dropped the plan and moved to Android development instead. Students, beginners, learners cannot afford that fee. The Windows Phone ecosystem never evolved because of Microsoft's strategy of "pay before you enter" policy .....

Well its not a happy news. I am a WP10 user and using lumia devices from 4 years. I would suggest MS to atleast open all the barriers for changing OS in devices or playing around with Roms and installing ios / android apps.
