I considered having windows phone over android before during android's early days as during that timw windows phone is the perfect match against iphone, but then by the time I had a windows phone it was too late Android were triving and making the right things. Windows phone was almost perfect combining both the ios and android approcah if only they gave the brands to create custom roms and lowered the price to create apps windows phone will surely give ios and android a run for their money.

Love the Community, 19 Jan 2019It's almost ahead of its time when it comes to features lik... moreApps are everything. Windows Phone or Windows Mobile is great but Microsoft failed to understand the smartphone market they treated it like it was a pc market that you can just sell your platform like the android way and control it like the ios way. ios have the walled garden and ecosystem that is hard to match you can sync your device across other apple devices even with mac. Android is an open platform that gives users more that allows brands to creat there own custom roms while windows mobile does not offer both. Huawei once said it is not profitable to sell windows phone as they don't have the freedom to create custom rom so it is hard to differentiate one beands windows phone to another. And as we speak mobile apps specifically mobile gaming are on the rise why would people care to carry a laptop on the bus if they can have android phone or iphone to do their task or play game.

Farewell windows phone. You will be remembered, especially Nokia Lumia 1020. It was a great camera phones at that time. Nothing last forever. The era has been changed. Make another good thing and evolve. Everything has changed.

It's almost ahead of its time when it comes to features like Symbian but I still don't get the comments of "lack of app support".
Guys, what do you really need in your phone that iOS/Android has while WP10 don't?

It's the end of an era really. It started way back with Windows CE in 1996, and then we had Pocket PC, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone and then Windows 10 Mobile. From next year there will be no Microsoft mobile operating system in support anymore. :(

I'm an Android user so it doesn't concern me but how about all those who have Microsoft devices?
"sorry that your phone is useless now".

I was using a windows phone a while back, think it was a Lumia 530. I really liked using it, was refreshing compared to the android I was using earlier.
What was really unfortunate was after one update the camera shopped working and the phone started malfunctioning. It was like a suicide pill, no amount of effort could restore the phone to prior state and the phone was getting unusable.. I was forced to shift to another phone...
Has anyone else experienced this?

Writing this comment with a Nokia Lumia 930 running Windows MobileOS 8.1
My telephone runs flawlessly, is fast and feels solid as a rock in my hand. Web browsing, Whatsapp and Here-navigation work smooth and battery life is still excellent although my unit is several years old. I have no need for a new mobile phone, but I can concider if the Nokia company/HMD brings something as great as N930 to the market.

YUKI93, 19 Jan 2019Sorry, I would NEVER let Google get my data!Do not be deceived. There is no OS which doesn't collect some form of your data. Developers and manufacturers want to make you feel secure. And that is an illusion. You can easily be tracked even when using a basic feature phone. When it comes to technology, TRUST NO ONE!
