The handset is likely still months away, though.

It's interesting to see that a company like Samsung will be copying what Vivo started with NEX.
For the first time, a non-apple brand's design will be copied.

This is the way where selfie cameras should go not funny notch, o holes or v holes. Screen is screen and shouldnt be there anything else except screen.itself.

UltimateZeroSeconds, 03 Feb 2019That is normal. All companies are copying each other. And ... moreI agree with you.

smarter would be to leave a few millimeters at the top, where it would place cameras and sensors. Smartphones 100% screen is ugly and dumb.

xXENDER FREAKXx, 03 Feb 2019Assuming that this is the GALAXY A9 2018's successor, I hop... moreUnfortunately, Samsung has a bad habit to cripple some of its non-flagship products, in fear of making the premium product less appealing. Hopefully they fix that this year with the A90 since the mobile division's internal structure is on the line.

The "n" and "s" is because the title had a typo. It ended with a c instead of the full cam word.

60E[z], 03 Feb 2019Wow. This is crazy. After sony copied samsung, now samsung... moreThat is normal.
All companies are copying each other. And those who can sell cheaper, are the winner.
Thanks to china.. We can enjoy more affordable phones with good features.

I actually like them but assumed that the industry didn't want to go down this route because it was a moveable part open to breaking and consumed power to work and took up too much space within the phone for other parts like battery.

Honestly I think that the answer is going to be some form of screen on top of the camera that switches off and lets the selfie camera emerge to take a photo.

Personally, I'd rather deal with a slider/pop-up or even dual-displays rather than dealing with ugly punch hole cameras.

AnonD-558092, 02 Feb 2019This is great nAssuming that this is the GALAXY A9 2018's successor, I hope that it brings a better camera software and pricing. Seriously, the GALAXY A9 2018 is indeed capable of taking decent photos (though I feel that the 24MP camera is a little lacking in sensor and pixel size), but the software part of it made it look ugly. I know, it's a mid-end smartphone, but u can't just flex the amount of cameras it packs when your camera software is trash. I'm very sure that the camera software can be further improved, at least make it decent at best. Plus, if the price is priced properly or even cheaper than what we expect it to price at, it will definitely be a appealing smartphone for people. James I'm curious, what's with the "n" and "s" in these two comments? Is it some sort of typo error?
