They are also now becoming a major player in telecommunications infrastructure. Their phones will surely be hit if the decision to ban them takes effect. But as for telco infra, they are already working in South Africa. As for competition, Huawei builds communications infrastructure at cheaper rate compared to US/western companies like Cisco and Nokia (not HMD Nokia but the telco Nokia).

Serves them right. Huawei is a fiend, and their phones have poor software, yet they like to boast how much better they are than other companies in their own crappy presentations. Now their phones have become even more trash than they already are.

Trump just gave a great example what could happen otherwise. Be afraid, the real world communist (The US) is after your freedom, both political and economic.

Who is truly surprised by this whole debacle? Trump made it extra clear that he hates Huawei and will do everything he can to get rid of it. Unfortunately, this shows a problem with the United States. The president has the right to kill ANY company. That's what he just did! Huawei will probably survive in China, but those who hope on a second OS, I think customers will truly miss Google's apps and services since there are no alternatives that are remotely as good.

                          RIP Huawei. RIP free market.

The damage has been done. Iphone 11 will sell higher because of these tactical, to cover their previous loss. This will be temporary & then it will back to normal & Huawei will get its license back anyway, as if China wont just sit & watch.

Its a statement, US put a scar on Huawei & affected sales will be undeniable. These are two parties that just want to show powers. But at the moment, seems like Uncle Sam are the dirty one in this trade war games.

I'm guessing this 90 days delay is issued because they just realized the extent of the damage of banning Huawei in the tech sector. Huawei is developing in the other parts of the world especially in communications infrastructure. Banning it in all US companies is effectively banning them in other parts of the world where these US companies are operating as well. Consumers will almost always but a cheaper product with better specs - not only in cellphones but also in telco infra. Cisco can't even beat them now.
