There already is Apple and there there already are the people who don't care what they get for money, buying iPhones. The more thinking and demanding people seek something else in Android and nobody will be successful enough with this nonsense. People who cheer on it are Apple customers...

[deleted post]If true, that is awful. There are some other related stories of damaged or third party Apple chargers causing death by electrocution (easy to Google this to verify). So based on that I'd guess there is enough power running through the headphones to be lethal.

While Bluetooth headset gives you freedom to move around while your phone is charging.
You can even go to your fridge and find some foods while listening to the music from your phone while it is charging. Or go to the bathroom without music interruption.
Can you do that with wired headset?

Anonymous, 01 Jun 2019It is not safe to use wired headset while charging your pho... moreIt's not safe to go outside your home. You could get killed by a terrorist, run over by trucks, hit by a meteorite, breathe poisonous gas, bitten by a snake, shot with a gun, stabbed with a knife.
Heck you may even meet lizardmen who are part of illuminati.
So stay at home.
But wait, you could also drink contaminated water like the one from a US state. Or a tornado might destroy your home.
What to do? /s

Moj, 01 Jun 2019WTF? "bigger screen, bigger battery" how are those two re... moreIt is neither bigger screen, or bigger battery. But 3.5 mm jack is something less than 1% will care about, and maybe even less will consider it a decisive factor. For them, there is maybe 15 cents the jack itself, 10 cents for less wiring, and 5 cents less because they will fit things easier without that jack there, especially for IP protection. Add maybe the same amount for the SD cards, multiply by the tens of milions of phones they sell each year and there is their reason. Same for the other companies.

Andy93, 01 Jun 2019Smartphone manufacturers just don't seem to see the link be... moreNo one will bring back the headphone jack, they don't need to. Sony and LG are in trouble because they underestimated the Samsung marketing machine, and maybe distribution. In my country, for many years Sony and LG had higher prices than similar Samsung models, they did nothing to correct that. It has nothing to do with the headphone jack.

Kerr, 01 Jun 2019Samsung have long been rumored to get rid of the jack in la... moreSmartphone manufacturers just don't seem to see the link between them removing more and more useful features and them selling fewer and fewer phones. Just look at HTC, they've refused to bring the headphone jack back, refused to improve their terrible battery life and refused to stop overpricing their phones and now they're near bankrupt. Sony mobile, and LG mobile are in a similar situation but their companies on a whole are strong enough to take the hit. Both Sony and LG need to massively improve their battery life and pricing, and Sony needs to bring the headphone jack back. LG G8 actually looked quite promising LG even added new features without removing any old ones, but battery life and availablity let it down

But I do understand why people might not like them so much. I have quite big hands so appreciate the extra real estate but I know that isn't the case for everyone.
