Oh sure, a new OS -- but the ban is not limited to Google. SD and Bluetooth are also supplied by the U.S.A, so they're not even halfway through to making a smartphone independent from US sourced devices. :D

Know that there are other smaller OSes out there looking for the right hardware platform to make their mark, with the current situation I see the hardware manufacturers branching away from Android. Many will use the android experience as a springboard and will relay on the android ecosystem to launch their respective OSes

Mobilemaster, 11 Jun 2019I wish them good luck! And I hope they give the OS a good name. What’s wrong with HongMeng OS? Hong is probably the first born son and Meng is the first born grandson of the OS designer.

but i think huawei still can pull off something out of this, for the good of consumer and free world, i wish them success.

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019Who on earth is going to buy this??? haha I mean people in... moreEasy, Android is based on linux and have a lot of flaws inherent and inherited from that system designed for servers and pcs. If the Huawei operating system has been designed from the ground up, thinking exclusively of its versatility to operate in different devices, it will have a great advantage in fluency and security adapting to each one of them.

That's why Google tries to use Fuchsia as an experiment to see what it can adopt differently due to the limitations they have. You just have to realize the garbage and mess that is WearOS for watches, or Chrome OS to realize that Google out of Android for now has nothing good to offer.

And who? Wait some months and watch millions adopting it in few hours. The countdown is underway.

I mean people in China, ok but they don't use any google service there.

I mean they are done copying apple and Samsung and now the copy Android as a whole?
The main selling point of this OS is that it supports android apps.
Like why on earth not buy the real thing?

Copy the cat, 11 Jun 2019Rip....why they so confident to ship it 1 million unit?? LolManufacture one million of phones for testing purposes is a lot and if you invest that a lot money for spread it around the world and show your new OS is because you are really confident of it. Samsung only manufactured a few tens of their Fold phone, probably fearing the worst.... and the reviews were a big flop and bad publicity. That is the example of not be confident. Huawei trust and much their your product.

Rip....why they so confident to ship it 1 million unit?? Lol

Finally - I've waited a long time for an alternative to the Apple and Google turkeys that come loaded with backdoors to the NSA and CIA.

If the opinions from people that install it and that i know personally are good. I'll try it too. It'll be even more funny if can be installed in other OEMs. The faces of some out there could be EPIC.

I wish them good luck! And I hope they give the OS a good name.
