07 August 2019
The company anticipated the backlash, and thus had a few reasons at the ready.

AnonD-731363, 08 Aug 2019They were dead long time ago. Soon the internet gets free... moreThey are not dead because they are still used, manufactured and added on many devices.

Several operators are now limiting their old Internet plans in data and transmission services with the excuse of offering a better and more secure, free-of-saturation infrastructure... so that free internet is a chimera, and it will be for long long time.

About cloud... go and put your work data on the foreing/outside cloud services... a very safe place to be cloned, lost and "oh" if something happen we are nor responsable of nothing (fine letter), at most a ridiculous compensation. The perfect place for be stealed in a lot of ways. Once your data is out of your hands you lose its control and you can't know in reality how those are treated, cloned, decrypted, etc. Then go and sue without any proof as those servers will be always hard-cleaned bit a bit by routine and logs only register what can't compromise them.

But hey, it's great to imagine a perfect world of science fiction. Only it doesn't exist in reality.

seriously, all you complaining about losing the AUX jack. Do you really, seriously think it will stay there forever? It is unevitable, it is old technology and it is clunky as hell. Good riddance.

The "explanations" are obviously BS. But that's par for the course with corporations.
This increases their margins, and with so few high-end handsets offering a jack now they felt they could do it without losing sales. Believe anything else and I've a bridge I'd like to sell you...

I remember when Samsung took the removable battery away, People were screaming from the roof tops but Samsung still sell lots of phones and I don't know of any manufacturer of a smartphone these days that does do removable batteries.

It seems we live in a 2 year disposable society these days.

Finally, they got rid of that useless port and used it for more battery capacity and better motor while keeping the device nice and slim. The Note 10+ looks awesome, even better than the current best phone aka OP7 Pro. My only nitpick is that they went with punch hole instead of the pop out camera but it's still much better than a notch or an ugly top bezel like the Xperia 1 has and Pixel 4 will have. Also the chin is really small so that's a truly bezel-less device.

I never liked old Android phone, I thought they were ugly and wasted too much space for superficial features. Now finally phones are getting streamlined and are getting rid of the pointless features in the name on focusing what's important and visually appealing design.

I love it that phones went in the direction I've always wanted and we're past the ugly duckling phase.

To all those people crying over headphone jack . If you are willing to buy such costly phone then you can also buy a good quality wireless earphone/headphone . Guess most of people crying for headphone jack are those who are not even gonna such expensive phone.

I think if the battery had been 5000 mah and they didn't go with hole punch it could have been worth the upgrade minus the 3.5 Jack.

Any premium device have to ascend to some other level this is the same.
Removable batteries are gone we were forced it happening again with jack.
This companies have enough money to do whathewer they wants and nobody would care.
In case of Samsung which sells like milions of phones each single day and like 20 million of devices with samsung sticker on it they just wont care.
We were forced tostick with choices we have and we have to pass over them,
Whether you or any other is happy with that decision or ot this big companies doesnt care.
Jack never was essential and never will be.
If they force us with sealed charging port and we have to use wireless only we will pass over it again and again. They have enough money to literary buy anyone.
                      End of my story.

                        Some more suggestions
remove USB port to use wireless only charge
use external battery back and remove battery itself.
Remote sPen to save more space can use magnet to stick outside.
Remove sim card try and use esim only.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2019Headphone jack and SD card already dead. They were dead long time ago.
Soon the internet gets free for all and cloud storage will be all that we needs.
And the jack was surpased by wireless audio anyway.
Or anyone can use USB-C dongle for earphones.
Jack will be gone and people like me are happy with this decision.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2019In today's wireless world why do we even need a headphone jack?? Because you can choose.

Imagine you have spare wired earbuds when your wireless ones run out of battery and you can't use it becasue there is no 3.5mm jack
