Lol, lay off the... moreWhen I say "orders from above" means from Sony management people. Decision the engineers from Mobile had to accept.
After the presentation of XZ2, they answered questions on twitter and they were asked about the jack. Answer was the fact they sell more wireless than wired ...
If Sony cared about Apple, the devices would have notch and Xperia UI would look alike iOS. Exactly what I see when I look at chinese phones.

Love the Community, 05 Sep 2019It better include AptX LL, AptX HD, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C ch... moreI think these Sony doesn't support AptX..Couple years ago I'd say no wireless cans could compete with wired cans,but I have to admit they're getting better,giant steps forward..Tried Bowers&Wilkins PX,they sound really great,similar price like Sony or Bose(~$300),but these PX are more musical,in my mind..Anyway,all of them are light years ahead,soundwise,from Apple or those horrible Beats crap..

Lol, lay off the LSD man. Apple is not above anyone else. Sony Mobile really said it out of peer pressure.
Of course midrangers didn't sell well because we all grew up buying flagships without compromises like latest Apple iPhones and Snapdragon 8xx phones. Buying a flagship is ingrained in everyone's minds. If they want a phone comparable to an iPhone, get a flagship and nothing else. But still, it's a bad move when a flagship is incomplete while premium midrangers are like the jack of all trades.

It'll sell a bit if the bundle with the Sony WF-1000XM3 it's priced ok. Once the bundle is over, the Xperia 5 sales will too.

Vasra, 05 Sep 201918W is not whopping, when others are doing 40-50W and beyon... more40W charging will increase battery loss compared to lower charging.
Those phones (xiaomi and vivo ) tipped to come with 100W will surely need new battery in less than one year.
This will be a fact as long batteries still use lithium.
