Weekly poll: face recognition vs. in-display fingerprint readers

I personally prefer the old school (think TouchID type) of sensor cause of its great accuracy and ease of use.
As for in-display vs. facial recognition however, it largely depends on the implementation. I have a Note 10+ and the optical sensor is simply put... garbage for me. It works perfectly for my girlfriend but it hardly ever recognized my fingerprints no matter how many times I register them. Note 10's facial recognition doesn't work in low-light the majority of the time for me too.
I have heard the fingerprint scanners to work much better for phones like the Oneplus 7, but it's still hardly as great as earlier generation capacitive ones.
But if you talk more advanced systems, I'd say I'd go FaceID cause of it's ease of use.

None of those, face recognition is a total joke with stories about people unlocking phone using a photo or a screen from another phone* while fingerprint readers can have detection issues. For me, iris scanner all the way. Samsung may have implement it before, but it still cannot beat the Windows Hello iris scanner for the Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL. It's just unreal to find out first hand that it's very hard to trespass it.

Motorcyclists and workers who use helmets are not recommended to use devices with facial recognition. I hope Tim Cook to consider this problem.
Thank you

Android users will pick fingerprint for sure, since none of them implement good face unlock.
Apple users will pick face, since they have no underscreen unlock.

Physical fingerprint scanners are way better.
You get a physical button that you can play and customize with.

Fingerprint scanner on the back not in the screen. In screen have issues when you put a screen protector on. Just keep it on the back and fast.

Something also worth noting; Try using a banking app on the Pixel 4. 99% of them will not work, due to the face unlock biometric not being supported.

I'd actually prefer side or front-mounted fingerprint readers.

In display fingerprint scanners, specifically optical ones and far better than face ID as they don't require a huge chunk of your screen to be cutout

I would largely prefer a physical fingerprint sensor.

Fingerprint. My brother has the iPhone X since 2017 and he told me Face ID isn't accurate like Touch ID was. It's one of the reasons why the Pixel 4 is no-go for me.
My Essential Phone's fingerprint reader is a little flaky though. My first one was the same way. And I can't scan the same fingerprint twice like I can do on my other Android phones. That's my main beef with my Essential PH-1. Other than that, it's pretty excellent everywhere else. Battery life is outstanding. Even GPS and using T-Mobile isn't that bad compared to what others say.
I like that the new Motorola razr and Microsoft Surface Duo will have a fingerprint reader too. Those will be my next phones. I have no interest in Face ID and hideous-looking notches.

Fingerprint scanner, in display or just on the back, either way. But a phone without fingerprint scanner is a no deal for me. It's simply way faster to unlock than face recognition is.

I would prefer both
FaceID because all you have to do is bring it up to your face and it unlocks and can work with glasses and hats but can be fooled with twins
Fingerprint because its fast and you can easily unlock your phone if its lying on a table but you can't unlock while wearing gloves or with sweaty or dirty fingers
Both have their pros and cons but I would pick FaceID over UD Fps
