Makimaki, 19 Dec 2019Websites actually caused Sony to become 5th orn6th phone ma... moreAre you serious.
Xperia z2 almost unusable after almost 2 years, due to excessive heat the back glass is detaching from the frame, mic issues, screen clouding, ports breacking, camera shuts of after two min recording,
Z5/z5 premium bending like a banana, terrible termal menagment,
Weak camera as always
Xz series with plastic body, also bending issues
Xz2, compact unacceptable tickness, fingerprint out of place, single camera, small battery.
I was sony fan back in the day but blaming the media for their failure is just ignorant blind fanboyism.
Thay screwed themselves pretty much.
Folowing blindly and blaming the others and this is the result.
Failed strategy and empty pockets.

Gustang, 19 Dec 2019Sony need to get back to their loyal customer by: 1. Xperi... moreI'll happily take a full spec, full price premium compact flagship.

If and only if it's actually compact. No the 5 is not compact.

I've given up and reluctantly stretched to a XZ2 Compact because it looks like it might be the last almost-compact phone there will ever be.

I doubt I'm the only person with this opinion.

Shui8, 19 Dec 2019Thats the way, Sony. Finally your mid ranger gets it. Looks... moreI wouldn't call Xperia 10/10+ design bad. In my opinion it is very convenient to use, sleek and elegant.

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2019Best comment I've ever read here on GSMArena. Finally someo... moreHow is PS vita not a big failure? I own a PS vita but it simply just collecting dust since 2 years ago! As for their phones, they don’t have good marketing or any marketing at all and they price their phones too high ( completely overpriced their phones) that it doesn’t really make them any good when comparing when other flagship phones

I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m a Xperia phones user for years (Z1, Z1s Z3 XZ) ) my Z3 didn’t crack or break into half but the front and back panel pops out from the frame. My latest Xperia , the XZ dead after a drop. I have a rubber hard case with a add on metal stand on the back. After almost 2 years of use and a single drop with the back panel facing down. The phone is dead on spot immediately, perhaps something damaged inside phone.

Anyway, the only way to save Sony is that they start to listen and understanding their users and fans. And try to compare aggressively.

Makimaki, 19 Dec 2019Websites actually caused Sony to become 5th orn6th phone ma... moreBest comment I've ever read here on GSMArena. Finally someone gets it. Sony, in general, for this past decade, has been a victim of mass cyber bullying. Whether that's Xperia, PS Vita, or Alpha, those media sites never forgive or cut Sony some slack. However, when it's a Chinese, Korean, or American company, they quickly turn their eyes elsewhere.

Makimaki, 19 Dec 2019Websites actually caused Sony to become 5th orn6th phone ma... moreNope it's just their bad marketing and overpriced phones that killed them

This will not retail under $600 and it will not be a mid range product but rather tier 2 flagship.

Websites actually caused Sony to become 5th orn6th phone maker. In recent years since maybe Z1 websites and reviews killed Sony. Build wise sony always has the best smartphones. Most sturdy most scratch repellent casing. Always used best software and hardware, but nianse here and there deter buyers from buying sonys. Also currently quite expensive. There is some fault on Sony side as well, but i had Xperia XZ and was top shit phone. I believe that xperia 5 and 1 are excellent as well, but someone will mention screen size is confusing or the case is slippery and ppl run away from Sony. If someone said that about Sammy or Apple... Nobody would care. I think antinsony propaganda ruined and put sony way back in pecking order.

Sony need to get back to their loyal customer by:
1. Xperia compact but dont make it flagship spec and pricing. SD675-712 is good enough

2. Affordable midrange to get the love back. Put some SD665 with 6000 mah battery and decent dual camera. Plastic body and other cuts to make the good price is ok. Even samsung can now make crazy phones like M30s to actually compete with 5 crazy chinese brands midrange, which i think is the top 3 best value cheap midrange now along with redmi note 8 pro and realme 5 pro at about $200 (or less) pricing

Not sure if impressed or not...

if it's another phone with 21:9 aspect ratio then no thank you Sony.

It would be as tall as iphone 8, but about 6cm wide.

Hopefully they bring out a phone that has less then a 5.7" display. Would buy in a heartbeat

SD765 for a Sony mid range phone in 2020 is quite surprising but also exciting, but also knowing Sony, it wouldn't be below $300 - of that I'm sure.
Now I'm really hoping they deliver the right features for the asking price of the phone, especially the display to have HDR despite being IPS panel.
That, and with nearly as slim bezels as the Xperia 1/5, and I might say it's already a serious offer.
With the next Xperia flagships coming out with newer and more advanced camera hardware, the new Xperia mid rangers could simply borrow the same camera hardware of the Xperia 1 (with memory-stacked sensor) and improve upon the weaknesses of the Xperia 1's camera system.
How I wish what I'm saying could be turned into reality....
