DxOMark ranks the Sony Xperia 5 in the same class as the Galaxy Note8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Sony still has a lot of catching up to do in the camera department as per DxoMark.

Nick Tagataka, 23 Jan 2020You were one of those who falsely accused GSMArena for lowe... moreFalsely? Definitely not.
And you should be aware every comment against the site itself is deleted yes.
On the zoom, yes my mistake, and it was actualy claimed 2x zoom vs 2x zoom, with crops.... except exif zoom data reveals that Xperia 1 "somehow" made an additional 2x digital zoom on top of optical 2x, and Huawei did only with 2x optical, both cropped afterwards.
So of course Xperias crop looks at least 2x worse worth the digital noise.

I am using common sense, thank you... that piece of DxO Data for ex, is deliberatly fabricated, amongst a couple of other.

I have noticed that, time after time year after Sony keep fallin behind in the camera of their mobile despite being the of camera. I guess they are most likely comfortable makin their money from it as a sole component or gadget than when integrated with their smartphones.

DxOMark may have some discrepancies in their scoring system, but I have actually tried the Xperia 1 (not Xperia 5, unfortunately, just saw it) in a Sony store.

I tested the cameras. I wasn't impressed with it. The store was also slightly dim, yet the camera shots are quite blurry even in 1x zoom. Compared this to my outgoing S10e that time in the store. The S10e still did better.

And just a heads up, the navigation bar I saw in the Xperia 1 and 5's UI is different, the one in Xperia 5 mimicks Vivo and iPhone , hmm

In the zoom test, Xperia 1 DID switch to its 2x telephoto lens - but because it's being pitted against P30 Pro's 5x telephoto lens, the detail looks comparatively worse on Xperia 1. How the company who makes the majority of the sensors that most phones use, be worse than another phone from another brand with the same sensor. Well I guess they have different optics, ISP and software that processes the image but still should Sony be better as a big camera manufacturer? :/

So I did what you suggested. Downloaded the 2x zoom image of the giraffe from DXO's review of Xperia 1. Guess what the EXIF says. Focal length 6mm, f2.4. Is that the main camera? I don't get why you have to come and fabricate stories just to justify your love for Sony. It's really pathetic.

And the number of people using a certain phone is not a proof of quality, most people take for granted an iphone or samsung is the best and just buy it. This is mostly a result of PR and markerting. Including "reviews" that praise them
