            So short answer is NO.
Long answer is it's possible but troublesome for now. And it will get worse. For example Shazam belongs to Apple. No way they'll keep it working on Huawei phones. Also NO mobile banking will be available. No netflix. Basically a crippled OS.
With galaxy s20 ultra being better and iPhone 12 on the way who would buy a high end Huawei? For what reason? They are the same price at launch.

Good mid-rangers are available from all companies now.

heeneycs, 15 Mar 2020I read this article that suggestes you can install Google S... moreYouTube Vanced with microG allows casting to other devices like TV.
Much better alternative than official YouTube app and much better experience than opening YouTube in web browser.

Rest of the apps can be obtained from apkpure.com, apkmirror.com, a2zapk.com, etc.
But yeah Netflix and other streaming services won't work without play services.
Banking apps won't work. On rooted phones, one can use lucky patcher to emulate play services but Huawei doesn't allow bootloader unlocking, thereby not allowing lucky patcher to do its magic.

Great article. Who knows how it all looks in another year. It also provides much needed competition.

This is actually a rather fun to read.
I'm got into a smartphone even before Android was up. Back when Nokia and Symbian still the king and I know how to thread different websites and wapsites to download a game app so using several appstore doesn't scare me much. But I guess it would be much of bother for regular user who just want their phone works.

The only way to this issue for huawei is to re-enable again unlocking the bootloader and share full kernel source so developers can make a lot of custom roms.

Otherwise, the future is very dark for this compagny !

I would immediately buy a Huawei phone if it had a stylus like Samsung Note as My thoughts are markedly inclined to a stylus now. Huawei phones have a fair amount of solid build and longevity comparing to any Android phone. And this report is pretty straightforward and helpful to choose one of the finest Huawei device out there...

Redondo, 15 Mar 2020No WhatsApp?? No way. I won't buy Honor or Huawei phone You can download Whatsapp from their official website...

the best way is to choose brands with no GMS issues like Samsung, Nokia, Xiaomi & same others

I read this article that suggestes you can install Google Services via Chat Partner App. DRM and Google Pay will NOT work but supposedly all others will. I would love it if you tried this out on the new Huawei phones and see what happens.

AndroidPolice also has a nice series of articles on OpenSource alternatives to popular Google apps:
                                  https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/02/16/the-best-free-and-open-source-alternatives-to-google-keep-on-android/

Finally running Youtube in a Browser is just fine with me as I watch content on a 75" screen NOT a 6.5" screen. However, I would miss the chromecast capability. What other casting protocols would your phone and TV have to support in order to do screen casting?

                                  Thanks for the reporting!

Huawei also bought TomTom. Is that not available in the Huawei app gallery yet? Any idea when it will be and when it can be tested?

In Germany the Amazon App store is no good solution.
Most of the Apps are older versions and not up to date.

I consider cn gov company aka Huawei responsible for all upcoming troubles and drawbacks. Even such unique device like MediaPad will be no buy for me.

Time for people to be introduced to MicroG :

MicroG is a free and open-source implementation of proprietary Google libraries that serves as a replacement for Google Play Services on the Android operating system. It is maintained by German developer Marvin Wißfeld. MicroG allows mobile device users to access Google mobile services with less tracking of their device activity compared to Google Play Services. In a presentation, Wißfeld described MicroG as "the framework (libraries, services, patches) to create a fully-compatible Android distribution without any proprietary Google components".
