They chose speed over resolution.
Anyway, the 8K would look crap if they had with low bitrate like other are using.
8K on phones should be about 250 Mbps, not 70 like Samsung is doing.
That is what is expected for 4K60, not 8K24.
Phone makers should start provinding better 4K like :
- 4K30 = 70 - 80 Mbps
- 4K60 = 110 - 120 Mbps

I find his answer to the question about the lack of 8K video recording a little bit funny. If their phones would have had 8K video recording, he would have bragged about it everywhere and how they make cutting edge hardware. That's marketing for you!
I kind of miss the old Sony Ericsson phones, though.

Impossible to have bottom bezels like s20 while keeping speaker above usb.
I have ipad. Sometimes I use speakers, sometimes my BT headphone.
I tell you, speaker beside usb port is an awful experience.
Too annoying I have to keep my hand there to prevent the sound from going away.
Bezel is 0,67cm. People complain like it was 1,7cm.

Nothing up in that spot, mostly. Personally, I'm a fan of a bezel, take my Pixel 2Xl, make the bezel as wide as the selfie camera ( and for goodness sake make selfie cameras central!), I'd be fine. Sony usually get battery life right, usually have a good quality screen. Gimmicks like rampant rabbit vibration motors for in games is trash. As for camera, they really have no excuse, they have enough photography engineers to make magic.

I badly miss sony phones. In India, sony fans do not have any option comparable to sony. Oppo vivo realme xiaomi samsung huawei honor all are garbage...motorola does not launch top models here...only LG selling good build quality oled display good camera and light weight phones...others feel like bricks...

Chinese skins offer a fully functional theme store that by default can change the entire look of your device without even installing any third party app.

The website lists the 5G bands i... moreAccording to the website (https://www.sony.com/electronics/smartphones/xperia-1m2/specifications), the one Mark 2 is getting Bands n1, n3, n28, n77, n78 (none of them are for Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T whom all use mmWave and bands 2 and 5 if I'm not mistaken).
Xperia Pro, according to the same website, gets some of the rarer Japanese bands and 5G bands 2, 5, 8, and the 2 mmWave bands for the major carriers not named Sprint for the US.
I wish you were right but....Sony has it labelled.
