Ace phone. What I miss a lot though is the tactile quality of some of the mechanism's on these phones. Like the shutter cover on this, the hinge on the E7 and the sheer childish slide on the 7110. Difficult to bring different hardware to the game now.

Nick Hawk, 02 Aug 2020I loved this phone. It was my first phone having an astonis... moreThis was one of the best camera phones at that point of time. It was the only camera that I depended on when I was tripping US and India. It had a powerful flash which could do pictures in dark while partying. Eventually I gave this phone to my girlfriend and we had plenty of pictures taken with this phone which I cherish even today. I think up until 2018, smart phones were not able to take pictures in dark like what this phone did in 2006. By the way it had a wonderful audio output too. I had this as all in one driver. Phone, Camera & Walkman. It was a classy looking phone at those times. K810 came with 5MP which did not live up to it’s predecessor.

Although this is a very good camera phone and is used by James Bond, Nokia with not so good in camera feature is the king of mobile phone anyway.

At that time there were the Nokia users, the Sony Ericsson users and Motorola. Although my first mobile phone was a Nokia, my second more advanced device was a W810. Great camera. Much better than comparable Nokia devices to my eye. And the second and last SE phone I got was the P1, with its elegant design and great qwerty keyboard. I could type swiftly and precisely on it with all punctuations and accents and no need for autocorrect. Software keyboards on screen aren't a pleasure to use.

I loved this phone. It was my first phone having an astonishing camera!
Unfortunately the Sony smartphones are not anymore on the top of the phones regarding the camera, unfortunately for them this lack of camera oriented marketing generates for them a huge lost of market share!
It is unbelievable how a lot of phone makers uses Sony camera sensors building true technical marvels and Sony, still remains in shadow. Very pity !!!!

I had the silver K800.
i actually wanted the James Bond edition (the color was mixed between black and silver),
but it costed more money than the regular ones, so i bought the silver ones.

Life was simple back then. You had sliding covers for the camera for privacy and lens protection. Good ol' days.

RN, 02 Aug 2020ah those times... the "un-boring-phone" eraI miss those times.
Never had the K800i because back then I was too young to have that amount of money for it, I had a W200i instead on Switch I wasted tons of time playing Asphalt, Pokémon Gold at 15fps in the GameBoy Java emulator and a lot of other Java games while listening to music.
I still have that phone somewhere, battery is near dead but it still works.

Best part of Sony phones is that they still have a 2 stage camera button. But nothing could replace a satisfying sliding camera cover especially ones that open the camera app.

Brilliant phone indeed. I owned the K790 version which was essentially the same phone. The camera was phenomenal for the time for stills. Video was poor though. I think it maxed out at 144P, which was disappointing even back then.
Phones had so much personality back then. Things started going downhill when touchscreens gained popularity...
