The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things current iPhone can't.
iOS 14 finally got an app drawer and widgets, Lol these are things that existed on Android a decade back.
Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

They need to keep their posh offices runni... moreR&D costs have been covered with the X sells, there is no significant development from that phone 'till this one, unless if adding a magnet to the back of the phone needs "r&d". The introduction of smart hdr with the Xs was the only significant development in the iphone line up since 2017. Though I'm not saying that android phones aren't overpriced too.

I would guarantee you the "ultra" Samsung phones aren't much more, especially with them making quite a few components in-house. They also wouldn't have to worry about shipping those components.
The additional things that are left out of cost that we can't know are shipping, R&D, and the engineering that goes into the OS, etc. None of those things are free, or cheap.

Haha, 90$ for almost useless 5g modem and garbage 60hz display costs the most lol... Then again apple has paid subscription services and they get even more money from them, while they should be reducing phones prices instead and have profit from services, but no, they want all the money from sales + the money from subscriptions.

Affordability argument was thrown out a decade back.
People buy Realme and Xiaomi since they are offering much better hardware/software combo than iPhone which is stuck in year 2010.
