Caviar removes the cameras of the iPhone 12 Pro to make it Stealth

Privacy concerns. I keep hearing this nonsense. I might be the only one who thinks like this but who cares about their privacy really. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. My camera might take pictures and send them where. Google or apple know what websites I visit, what clothes I buy, what films I stream or download. Why should that bother me? Why should it bother anyone. I think that if you are a mega high profile personality in the media, maybe. To be honest, if I was, I still couldn't care less. I don't really get this overblown paranoia about privacy. I think some people really think that they're far too important and interesting. Truth is that nobody really cares. It's such nonsense really. If google want to see my family photos, my contacts, etc. I really don't care. I, like everyone else really, am not that interesting.

GAMIRSFM, 02 Dec 2020I did? When did i say such things, all i said was for those... moreYep.
Except that it isn't the case, one should have the choice to get a smartphone AND have privacy, also smartphone invade other people's privacy, and the lack of privacy affect other individual as well, including those who do tons of efforts to keep their privacy, as more and more invasive practices are justified and surveillance become more and more invasive and present.
I shouldn't have to buy a special edition that cost 5x the original and could buy me a car or a monster gaming computer or some useful tools just because Android phone makers lack diversity while the main point of a "free" OS that anyone with enough investment can make smartphones for, is actually the diversity it offer.
By that logic, if I want privacy I should literally stop to exist, isn't it rather privacy intrusion that should back off my life rather than me having to restrict how I live to avoid being illegally spied upon ?
No you aren't, you literally throwing privacy out of the windows with your speech, it is literally pushing peoples away from privacy.
Privacy CAN and SHOULD be convenient.
There is that saying :
"Those who give up liberty for security deserve neither."
And this variant I like :
"Those who give up liberty for security deserve neither and will loose both."
The fact that not being able to have tech not spying on yourself when you are at home is literally the definition of a dystopian society, and the indisputable we live in a messed up world.
You can either push toward making things better and how they should be by telling peoples to repeal the aggressor, or push toward the constantly growing way toward dictatorship by teaching peoples to live in fear and to accept oppression and just try to work their life around the lack of freedom they have.
Your call.

One alternative is to use Nillkin CamShield covers which have a sliding mechanism that covers the rear cameras. Unfortunately CamShield covers also don't have front cam covers.

Unless you can throw it at a 100mm thick brick wall and leave a proper mark with no damage to the phone then that phone isn't worth base(factory) price.

This has got to be one of the most useless phones right now. In a world where video calls and video conferences are getting more and more needed, they released a phone without a single camera and charged a lot more

If you want a "privacy" phone, go for old feature phone without camera. Nokia or Esia Hidayah, sth like that. Its more than enough for a "private" calling.

Taking a leaf out of Apple's book, remove features but charge more :-)
I like it...although in that ghastly gold , it isn't very stealth ...maybe a matte black or carbon fibre would look better.
But each to their own, I just find bling a bit cringe

RC255, 01 Dec 2020Yea...how have Caviar not gone under? Because they make something different than the usual phone that is basically the same as every other, proving that despite the high cost, many want different things, because there is demand for it, so much that some would pay a lot for that.
And by the way the Caviar brand isn't luxury, real luxury is wayyyy more expensive than that, with the world most expensive being the Falcon Supernova iPhone 6 Pink Diamond topping at $48.5 million, so it isn't even because some want luxury phones that they buy those.
