Weekly poll: picking the perfect display (refresh rate, resolution, curved or flat)

On monitors and TVs I think 120hz should become the new default standard. On mobile devices, I think 60hz is the sweet spot between smoothness and battery longevity (which takes an enormous hit at 120hz just for some extra smoothness).
1440P screens appear to be much sharper than 1080P screens though. I wouldn't go back to a 1080P display unless it was on a small phone. It's one of the reasons I returned the S20 FE - 1080P at that display size just isn't perfectly sharp anymore.

bajijus, 11 Jan 202190hz refresh rate display should be the minimumif 90hz should be minimum, then companies would be churning out 720p/1080p 90hz LCD's... 1080p 90hz LCD is fine, but 720p LCD 90hz is bit ehh. lol xiaomi would give an OLED 4K 5000hz screen for 200 bucks gladly lol

AnonD-973296, 11 Jan 2021then their minimum battery should be 4500mah or higher thenWhich year are you stuck in? 4500mah is pretty much the standard for most Android Flagships in 2020. There are no tiny sub 4000mah batteries like you find on Pixel and Apple devices.
Unlike Apple, Android manufacturers aren't interested in saving costs by using small capacity batteries and dumping half a decade old charging onto users.

1080p is acceptable for me while the refresh rate should be minimum at 90hz. But for the design, I prefer curved screen

Ayan Crownyse, 10 Jan 2021iPhone 12 Pro User and OnePlus 7T owner.
I tend to agree w... moreThat's coz OnePlus 7T is a poor example of 90hz panel.
It's a 90hz panel with 120hz touch sampling rate. They improved it on the OnePlus 8 which had 90hz panel with 180hz touch sampling rate..
IPhone has 60hz panel with 120hz touch sampling rate.
Modern Android flagships have 120hz-160hz panels with 240hz-480hz touch sampling rate.
We have 480hz touch sampling rate on Mi 11. IPhone still stuck at 120hz.
The experience is night and day.

Do you really think a person who doesn't know how to change something in settings will be using a smartphone in the first place? Most of the times the high refresh rate is plastered onto everything inside the box or other marketing material.
Android userbase isn't as d^mb as iOS userbase

Markuss, 11 Jan 2021For flagship, minimum should be 120 hz and 1440p display. Also screen from Samsung, LG or Sharp, cameras from Sony, usb3.1, IP68, gorilla 6 or virtus and RAM/storage from Samsung.
No chinese parts used by chinese phones.

[deleted post]Correct. But I shouldn’t have to use a specific brand to have a flawless experience of an OS as a whole.
I’d love to be enlightened on what that last word means.
