Would definitely want to know if the high iso + low iso for HDR processing is done for video too. Pretty sure it isn't.

That main sensor is good enough for the next 5 years.
Flagship quality images in every condition. With gcam, it becomes even better in low light.

IPhone image quality won't hold up for the next 5 years as the sensor is too small barring the Pro Max Model. The image quality cannot get any better than what it is right now.
Meanwhile, the HM2 image quality will only get better with time.

It's not meant for mid range devices either.
It is a flagship sensor in every way only limited by the weaker 750G ISP inside the Xiaomi.

Personally think it was not as good as the imx686 on other Xiaomi phones like the Redmi k30 5g especially for taking pictures of people in indoor lighting where the pictures were very soft and a little blurry. I returned the Redmi note 9 pro coz of the camera. Maybe it would perform better with a better chip and better image processing though but still will be weaker than the hm1

Samsung is pushing the bar very high, Samsung's 108 Mpx ISOCELL sensors are just going to destroy Sony's sensors and their sales.

"Smart ISO Pro is an HDR technology that captures one high ISO and one low ISO shot simultaneously. As both are captured at the same time, this avoids the ghosting of moving objects that is a problem for sequential HDR"

IMO they should've copied Huawei sensor and made 50MP sensor with 1.22nm pixels size and the sensor would be quad bayer but also bins pixels on software level (or the sensor could be just standard bayer with pixel binning done entirely on software) . This would give much more flexibility you will get
Full high res shot with superb details
Larger pixels in night time with low noise
You could also increase binning from 4-in-1 to 9-in-1 maybe even 16-in-1
It will also allow digital zoom with less detail loss as the phone would be able to capture and process 50MP images faster than 108MP and than merge them into one for higher details, less noise and better sharpness

i0S...Never...Again, 15 Jan 2021The HM2 on Mi 10i is a great sensor. It gave such sharp &am... moreI've seen Redmi Note 9 pro 5g/Mi 10i click great images, even better than the Samsung Note 20 ultra in some cases.

A phone costing Rs.21k matching the image quality of a phone costing Rs.117k and giving better image quality in certain scenarios is simply exceptional.

No wonder people bought Xiaomi phones in great numbers.
