15 January 2021
The sensor can output 12-bit HDR, has a low-noise mode, which boosts sensitivity in low light, and an improved autofocus system.

Info on wikipedia was wrong, already corrected.

The HM2 on Mi 10i is a great sensor. It gave such sharp & detailed 108mp images.
S21 Ultra with its successor HM3 will give even better 108mp images when used in accordance with the Flagship ISP.

S20 FE and Xperia 5 II use IMX 555 which is much superior to IMX 603 inside the iPhone 12 pro Max.

IPhone doing Pixel type tricks with hdr on auto mode to give usable enough picture quality. In reality the sensor is weaker compared to other flagships.

IPhone photo quality is only a minor improvement over the 12 & 12 pro or the 11 pro Max for that matter.

So basically, it just adds 12-bit colour depth and better laser autofocus system. I wonder if it would make a better photo quality than last year's S20 Ultra.

A good sensor should have fewer large pixels. Many pixels mean many pixel gaps which means light loss and ultimately bad image quality. Some of the best current DSLR or mirrorless full-frame cameras have 20MP sensors. Samsung is just fooling its customers!

I hate Nonacell on my N20U. They really should have made it a giant 12MP sensor because the fusion of pixels causes a massive loss of image quality (details and colours).
