Of course everyone has own taste, but for me using fingerprint is more convenient than using Face ID tech (especially underdisplay fingerprint). Apple can get rid of notch, but they don't, because the try to stretch time to avoid new design. Less new stuff each year, less effort, more profit.

Yeah, iOS introduced widgets (which were on Android for 5-6 years), but it's more a "toy" feature for iOS users. Anything important and vital added? No, so that support means almost nothing, same goes with Android. It's almost perfect OS in terms of variety of functions and features, each new update barely adds anything new because there is nothing to add tbh.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2021Yes they did update, unlike iphones. You are just too blind... moreNo, I'm not "blind for iPhone". I literally went with iPhone because I was fed up with BS updating on Android which I was dealing with since Eiclar when I first bought Android phone. And every god damn device I had got dropped the moment some cool feature was released in Android. Every single bloody time. So quit your baseless accusing.

You may call it thrash because you're an actual blind Apple hater, but not one Android phone has provided me such amazing experience to date as iPhone XR which I'm still holding on to because suprise surprise, I'm not being left out of software after 2 damn years. Like it happened with every Android phone. And I damn well know I'll get iOS 15 and iOS 16 guaranteed, probably even iOS 17. At which point it'll be around 5 years and then I'm expecting to get it dropped from updates. And I'll be fine with it because 5 years is acceptable full support. It's just something unthinkable on Android phones to have so many major updates to the phone. Might even drop those 50-70€ for official battery replacement. Also something I never ever considered with Android because there was no point in putting money into device that is EOL and isn't getting any updates even though it's still capable enough to easily be supported for more years...

Also no, we don't just buy anything Apple releases. But when you have to pick between staying with Apple with something radical changed and having to switch back to garbage Android experience, I might just suck it up and ignore missing charger and buy iPhone again. Opposed to dealing with all the updating nonsense and creepy Google again. It's why people stick with iPhones. Between two evils, you pick the lesser one. And that's iPhone then.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2021So Apple invented Face ID. And from 2017 until now, what di... moreWhy you are so bitter? Are you envy that we can do that? Why you care how others spend their money?

” They squeeze every last euro from their customers and they give them nothing in terms of design or innovation.”

They give something for return just like everyone else too. And it just depends where you come from what is your current phone. For example i already have a great 11 Pro and really didn’t see any reason to upgrade to 12 Pro. It’s just a fact that in current smartphone trend yearly upgrades are really small with every company. That’s why Android companies struggle to sell their flagship. Apple is able to sell them because they have a huge userbase so there’s every year lot of people to upgrade from old models. Their cycle is really great.

Basicly if you don’t care about mobile photography there’s no really reasons to upgrade phone anymore. If you look S21, it really didn’t bring anything else to market than upgraded camera and that’s why market were so underwhelmed by it, it’s just how the things are nowdays. By what you said, Samsung didn’t give anything and even went to remove many things :D

I could propably easily go still three years with this 11 Pro if i wouldn’t be into photography.

Wily2021, 22 Jan 2021Those android companies doesn't have Face ID tech. It&... moreSo Apple invented Face ID. And from 2017 until now, what did they do with that? Nothing. Is the same d*mn design since 4 years ago. And it will stay like that for another 2.
I mean is perfect from their point of view. They squeeze every last euro from their customers and they give them nothing in terms of design or innovation.
Oh yeah, 0.1mm smaller notch. Wow, just wow, worth it. Lol. Here is my 1000EUR for a new iphone.

AnonD-804996, 22 Jan 2021You keep repeating this "Android phones have updated&q... moreYes they did update, unlike iphones. You are just too blinded by your love for Apple to see it. Just look at an iphone 6 and an iphone SE 2020. They're basically the same phones (minus the chipset and camera). There is your Apple innovation for you. Zero. But, they have the nerve to ask 450EUR for that piece of tr*sh. Because they know their loyal fanboys will buy just about anything they released.
Look at a Samsung S5 fro example and the newer Samsung phones. See any difference? Of course you don't. you see only Apple.
And the same is for other Android phones as well. Xiaomi, Huawei, One Plus. All upgraded their phones in the last couple of years.
Apple just improves chipset and camera. And from time to time they decide to bring back older designs (like they did this year with iphone 12 series, copy of iphone 5, 5s designs). And they call it "innovation". Lol. The only innovation Apple is doing is disrupting the market with their pathetic ideas (removing stuff). Their design and R&D departments should be fired and start from scratch with new people (including their CEO, which is just magnet for money, not innovation).
And until that changes, Apple will be just the same. Interested in profit, nothing else. And their loyal fanboys praising and buying anything they released.

Wow. Welcome to 2018 Apple. You’re finally getting that hideous bathtub notch smaller when many Android OEMs are now using punch hole cameras and are now getting closer to under display cameras.

Maybe in 2025 iPhones will finally have Punch Hole cameras and in 2040 they’ll finally “invent” underscreen cameras. Still, their happy suckers er I mean customers will still think that it’s the greatest “invention” since sliced bread. Lol

Apple users? this pretty much fits to every smartphone buyer, Average iPhone users look lot more specs and do comparison than average android users, because well android owns over 80% of markets so it means there's whole lot more normal people buying android phone than iPhone.

People just don't care these things and why should they? They have other interests in life. Come out of the tech bubble! ;) And of course people look brand name, just like people usually does, when company have big brand name it usually means they have great products. It takes years and years to build the brand and you can also ruin it very fast. Let's remember that Apple had zero brand name in phone business and they were underdog and most thought they wouldn't survive because Nokia were so superior. But with all the hard work year after year it have made a huge impact for the market and they just keep going and going and getting bigger and bigger. Samsung also had that very good brand name, but the brand name just didn't met the expectations and slowly every year Samsung brand image in phones have gotten worse and it shows in their sales too.

Design-wise its 5-6 years old, huge bezels, battery is awful and one of the worst nowadays, IPS display (which could be Oled, but hey, Apple wants more profit!)
It's better to buy Pixel 4a in that price segment, which is also compact -> you get one of the best cameras for that price, slightly better battery, pretty design, Oled screen and processor which is suitable for daily stuff and light gaming.

[deleted post]Clearly majority of premium phone users doesn't, Apple sold 74% of all over $500 phones in november in EU.

                                "Apple joins the 5G fight
The Galaxy S21’s price – the basic model will start at €849 ($1,030) – puts it firmly in the premium category, which is Apple’s home turf. In Q3 2020, Apple accounted for 45% of European smartphone sales in the premium segment (>$500 wholesale), followed by Samsung with 39%. But in November, the first full month of iPhone 12 sales, Apple accounted for 74% (Samsung had 16%).

A key concern for Samsung is that Apple’s latest offering – the iPhone 12 – is (finally) 5G enabled, which means Samsung’s near monopoly of the premium 5G segment is over. In Q3 2020, Samsung accounted for 65% of European premium 5G smartphone sales; in November, Apple took 73%.

The fact that Samsung’s early launch was only 12 weeks after the iPhone 12 arrived won’t help matters. The iPhone 12 is proving to be a huge success in Europe, and is taking the wind out of competitors’ sails by dominating promotions, shelf space and the online visibility. By launching the Galaxy S21 so soon, Samsung is risking getting lost in Apple’s wake."

So funny, it took two months! for Apple to completely own 5G market while competition have had 5G phones for long time, just shows how few android premium phones been sold.

Android sales are mostly happening in $200 price and Apple doesn't anything to to offer there because they don't need to. Android companies are fighting for leftovers and trying to stay in competition. But like LG situation shows, it's getting more and more difficult. HTC will be next then Sony and so on.
