You need to reinstall apps to clear user data and it don't even work? Really annoying. In android you can clear data and cache easily. Android for life.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2021I bet Apple's legal team is the most staffed departmen... moreTheir legal dept is where their real "courage" and "innovation" are, not in their marketing or manufacturing dept lmfao

And now they are repeating it like a gospel whether it's true or not. Also yeah, iPhone 6 is not as fast anymore. It's a device from 2014 (7 years old). I'm fairly certain Android phones from 2014 won't be as snappy today either... Also iPhone 6 was still getting updates in 2020. 6 years after release. Granted, it wasn't a major update, but it was still getting security updates 6 years later. Six years! Samsung Galaxy S5 was released in same year as a reference to realize just how long ago that was...

The rest of the Google apps are sh*t thou, including Gmail, Chrome, Photos, Google Music (now YouTube Music). I never used them, even with Android phones.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2021So.. you don't use Google Maps, Gmail, and YouTube? No. I don't use any of that. I don't use a single Google app or service on iPhone and neither I have on Android when I was still using it. In fact I don't use Apple apps or services either. I don't use iCloud, I don't use Apple's mail, I don't use Apple's Maps. I'm using 3rd party services which is cool as I don't depend on any side, Google or Apple and can basically migrate between Android and iOS in a day and not be inconvenienced at all.

Also there was no "illegal" listening by Siri. People were mad that Apple was using contractors to process non-english languages without explicitly mentioning it. Newsflash, EVERYONE does. Do you know how many languages Siri supports this moment? 20. And I didn't count country dialects within those like French in France and French in Canada. So, how is your smarta** brain expecting American company with predominantly English speakers to professionally support all those languages without contractors who know those languages in depth down to very specific phrases and sentences? You're just straight up clueless, delusional and crazy Apple hater who doesn't even understand the most basic things involved in development of products.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2021No need of custom ROM, only root is sufficient. IOS can... moreNo, iOS just gives you controls for privacy right in the settings. With Android you need to f**k it all up with root so you can even do that. And even then there are things that will siphon to Google servers whether you like it or not. Stop pretending Android is superior in that regard when it just isn't. Also getting devices rooted is a clusterf**k of a process in most cases that voids your warranty and makes banking apps as well as video streaming apps stop working. And then you need to d**k around with Magisk to bypass a bypass. Just no.

wbpwns, 11 Feb 2021I smell new lawsuits incoming. I bet Apple's legal team is the most staffed department considering all the lawsuits happening globally.

Matt James Paradise, 10 Feb 2021GrapheneOS is the only true way to avoid tracking.Sadly, it's only for Google Pixel phones at the moment. Since I don't have any Pixel phones with me right now, I just installed any custom ROM that supports Signature Spoofing support and use microG while at the same using FOSS alternatives to other Google services. I've been doing that with my Samsung Note 4 with Havoc-OS Android 10 and microG installed, and I never looked back at Google.

That Reddit post is on r/privacy, so I can definitely believe this. Privacy-minded subreddits really take privacy super seriously, even r/deGoogle.

Having said that, I do think that Apple does this because they might think that you will reinstall the app later on.

those defending apple on this- yes, the data stays on the device and the app that left it there is the only one that can access once reinstalled; but that's not just it, apple also has access to the data. the fact is you cannot trust any tech company with your data, even those that use linux. a few years ago apple announced that it will indeed be tracking you to serve you targeted ads in apps or browser, they got backlashed and have retracted the t&c containing the provision to track you. no. that is not true- i have an ipad pro and it still serve me targeted ads to this day based on my location and even something that i have spoken about with somebody. what's worse than collecting personal data is lying that you don't do it. as i have commented before, nowadays the product being sold is not the gadget but you- you are the commodity, they make more money overtime by collecting your data than the amount you actually paid for that device. the question is- is it good or bad? people here say in defense of apple that unless you are a famous or an important person they have no use for your data. wrong. us regular people, our collective data is much, much more worth than the few famous or important persons of the world. again, back to the question if it is good or bad? it is somewhat in between. a few years ago my comments about privacy issues is that at least these tech companies are serving you more and more useful information and ads, and at least it will not be annoying because you most likely need those information or ads. it is indeed- services that uses ai or "algorithms" gets better the more you use it because they build your profile from your data. furthermore, at least only the maker of the operating system has access to your info; your information is stored in a secure system and if needed to be transmitted it is encrypted end to end. then again it is not always the case- let me just remind you of "the fappening" and that data breach on the first ipad models wherein millions of credit card information were stolen in the united states. i guess that's what tech companies need to work on- make sure servers and the devices are impenetrable by hackers. i still am in favor of these companies collecting data to build your profile; it helps ai and algorithms work its best for you. but they need to be honest about the whole thing, not give it's own customers a false sense of security.

What they want from your data is to improve their services, so to attract more people to use. That is worth more $$ then know that you like to eat donut at a 24hr coffee shop every wed. (Maybe someone working on the data may get a giggle out of that.. but that's it)

Cambridge analytica ring a bell? All matters because all can be selled: your shopping habits, locations, medical problems or preferences, political preference etc. Any data of you is for sale, some for a marketing campaign, some for political campaign etc. They make you a very accurate PROFILE to wich will give a picture because you use face unlock.

                                      1. The Keychain is secure based on the app.
                                      2. The data is not shared with ANYONE.
                                      3. EVEN if the data is access by another app, IT CAN't MAKE SENSE OF ANYTHING.
                                      4. You try to lawsuit this issue with Apple You will lose. Because if you let a security expert review this.. they will find NO fault.
