          WT F it will mean no bootloader unlocking for the China version since it's running color is sh#t wrong move. Oneplus is becoming a draconian corporate everyday

                  Oneplus said they are different entity from Oppo, but this move to ColorOS completely make a fool of themselves and their fans. No wonder Carl Pei left the company

                    Recently, OnePlus has been slowly turning out to be just another Chinese brand. They have lost their charm and uniqueness. Also, sadly OxygenOS is not the fastest to get the upgrades these days. Samsung has massively transformed itself in software updates aspect.

                      I'm pretty sure that eventually Oppo will absorb Oneplus totally, the Oneplus phones will be a lineup of Oppo.

                      This is one of the reasons Carl Pei left.

                                    Good move. They already use Oppo pay and Oppo's ai assistant Breeno anyway so they are already using some color OS features. Although it wouldn't be my personal favorite Color OS is pretty good and offers a lot more practical features for the Chinese market than Hydrogen OS. Sharing resources also saves costs

Oneplus is a subsidiary of Oppo. Without Oppo they wouldn't exist. Any tech they have is basically borrowed from Oppo and Oppo have always manufactured their phones with Oneplus borrowing many Oppo designs and sharing components. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible for a truly independent brand to be able to succeed and compete with the big boys. Having the backing of a larger company is the only way
