Anonymous, 25 Sep 2012 i was on the train this afternoon watching the piano guys... moreAre you sure it wasn't an iphone 4S? A collegue of mine was impressed with my SGS2's screen, but the sunlight legibility is downright awful, even on full brightness.

      We get it Android fanboys:

      1. Good Apple story - conspiracy theory
      2. Bad Apple story - excellent reporting and journalism

      Lol.

i was on the train this afternoon watching the piano guys on youtube in HD using my S3.

the guy seating next to me couldn't concentrate on what he's doing. he was stunned by the beauty of the S3's display.

he was using ip5, btw ...

the eyes are the best benchmark. everything you do on the s3's display is really very very good. playing games, browsing, reading a book, watching a movie, watching youtube, searching locations on google maps, etc, etc, etc..

the 4" HD screen is comfort to the eyes. the colors on the super amoled are stunning. i can flipboard all day without hurting my eyes.

really superb display. i heard that the hoX has a good display too.

Bluish, 25 Sep 2012I always felt samsung phone screens are bluish or get bluis... morePentile also sucks, even the sgs3 is over 300dpi it looks much worse than for example new iPad, text reading is so bad with pentile, you understand it when you see real good display.

Its a common occurrence for iPhones to be on top of their game when it comes to screens, period. And, NO I am not an Apple fan... Same story with the iPhone 5. Its just that it boils down to personal choice, really. I personally would go for the SIII. The bigger screen is just great for me (I wear glasses, like many tech lovers do) and its detailed and bright enough for my needs.

Too bad it's not 720p, major fail imo. Also disappointed that Sony can't get their V to market faster, similar screen tech with 720p, similar dimensions, except a little thicker because it's waterproof. Will be a better comparison when released.

It has the best screen out there and it is not in comparison...Much better colours than any other lcd, viewing angles and clearer than pentiled sgs3's screen

Excerpt from gsmarena review on s3

"Sunlight legibility is splendid too - the HD Super AMOLED isn't the brightest around, but its reflectivity is so low that even outside in the brightest day, you'll still be able to see what's on the screen quite clearly. As a matter of fact, the Galaxy S III managed to top our sunlight legibility charts."

                                  How so about that?

When iPhone 4 was released many felt the same way. I have tried iPhone 4, 4S an Galaxy SII. Guess what! AMOLED screen was superior (viewing angles, contrast, blacks). Not to mention screen size.
