[deleted post]Huawei is certainly connected to Chinese (CCP) government. There're lots of evidence of it. It means if CCP asks Huawei to spy, they can't say "No". So will do all other Chinese tech giants. Huawei just became a scapegoat. I can't blame USA for that. Communism is true evil and something has to be done about it...

      Huawei will beat android soon. Bcz huawei make high end device in cheapest price phones mostly people will use harmony os instead android. I can see all Chinese company will use Harmony os.

          But when you say people, it means customers globally, and in this case there are two point:

          1- Everything around the world affected by COVID-19 Made in P.R.C.

          2- Nowadays people think how to keep their own handset and pay more careful to companies which support its products. Global availability, less trick to run their app. Sell them after 5 years and pay less for other model of the brand,

          In countries people decide what is good or bad. Nokia was killed by Elop, but still people didn't attend the funeral. LG was still alive, not almost healthy, people bury it alive.

          Windows Phone, Symbian, Bada, Windows Mobile, Blackberry were all alive and healthy, developers who are again people, ignored them, people attended their funeral.


          People are those who work to live, they earn less. They have ethics to help.

          Special part of community which are not people, live to work, they decide how others earn. They are machines programmed by money making algorithm. One Day Mining Gold and killing poors, Today mining Crypto and again killing [Not] poors.

          They waste the energy and time and they also make life, harder to live.

              i had used windows phone 8.1 on lumia 430 and i felt they were better than android especially on ram management.

                PS I liked Windows Phone. Still rocking 950 XL as my secondary choice. IMO Microsoft gave up too easily. They are effin multibillion company and can stand some losses.

                    To be honest i believe Harmony could surpase Android and IOS.
                    If they manage others devices from others brands to use Harmony in them they will steal a lot of google clients and corporations.
                    And for IOS as alwas its DOA because apart apple it dont work and cooperate with any other device and people havent enough money to spare on overpriced junk with a worm bitten rotten apple on it.

                      USA and China are both bad. With that being said, HarmonyOS is just an iOS copycat!

                        I think this has a potential to even surpass android

                          I remember Samsung BADA and the effort behind it. It was more quality than Android. Developers ignored the OS and manufacturer itself pulled the plug.

                          I also remember the time when Huawei CEO in response to closing WP line of smartphones said "Nobody will earn money from Windows Phone."

                          As previously happened by late steve jobs "Who wants a stylus?", "You have to get 'em, put 'em away, you lose 'em. ""Yuck!"" Nobody wants a stylus. So let's not use a stylus."

                          2015 Apple bowed down to Galaxy Note line by its Apple Pencil.

                          Now Huawei will struggle between 3 to 8 years and then wrap it up the whole project.

                          Even Chinese people prefer Apple OS and Android with GMS regarding tough restrictions.

                          Only a bunch of China's slaves like Iran's president and the whole dictat-orship Gov-ernme-nt of the country will forcefully use the HarmonyOS.

                          Smartphone industry is an absolute sign of capitalism, offer less, gross more.
                          The industry leading by communist country is a nonsense joke.

                          Imagine a prist and a mulla perform waltz dance. It will be ridiculous.

                          Even Windows Phone was accepted in africa, middle east and partly in europe.

                          Final word,

                          Huawei wants to dodge the industry, but needs a prestigious failure, the name of the trick is HarmonyOS.

                            I hope it gains some traction but Windows phone was Windows phone, nothing can compare to it in terms of look & feel, Harmony is basically android, so it doesn't feel radically different.
                            Maybe Sailfish or Fuchsia OS is more different

                                    Well how open source community works in USA is really great. Google knows why is it always great to keep android open source. Today so much work is done on aosp compared to iOS. Open source and android being based on Linux are the best things that work so great for android. Custom ROMs let users use their devices, for years. Huawei was pathetic when it came to supporting openning bootloader. Huawei try whatever, it's needs to open up. Until unless they going to convince me that I can trust them and see their code. No thank you dude. Harmony or discord doesn't matter. I will not be buying any crap device of theirs.

                                        It'll never be like the failed Windows phone for obvious reasons:


                                        1- The system is open sourced and can be deeply modified freely by any 3rd-party devs and companies (so 'Huawei is spying' argument is no longer valid)

                                        2- It's from company that's backed by government support (meaning, endless financing)

                                        3- All-around OS, meaning it's not only for smartphones but also can work seamlessly between devices and even as natively desktop/IoT/TVs/STBs/in-car head units OS

                                        4- Can run Android apps (side-loading APKs is supported) together with it's own .Hap apps

                                        5- It's not American OS! which will get countries like Eastern Europeans, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, South Africa and any sanctioned country etc.. to embrace it

                                        6- People nowadays are in favor to break the duopoly Apple/Google for the sake of competition, unlike in the days of Windows phone when people were very excited for IOS and Android. People tend to lose interest in older things which gets boring over time whether hardware or software.
