OnePlus extends software support for its smartphones

2 months ago I got a contract for OnePlus nord now I wish I didn't, the phone that's nearly a year old has so many issues, this was my first OnePlus device, and will be my last, sadly I don't see any reason to not get an iPhone now, I loved Android but now I rather have a device that is far superior and guarantees great performance.

If a person changes phone every 5-6 years then that person is using an iPhone no doubts.
If a person changes phones every 3 years then that person is using an Android phone unless the person custom ROM it to extend.
But if a person change phone every year, but uses iPhone that has 5 years of software update, then there's no point buying iPhone. ( Unless he is very rich).

I had OnePlus One, 3, 6 and now 7 Pro and the way 7P was treated is a joke. Buggy and slow updates, more and more bloat like Zen Mode with each update, terrible photo quality compared to other flagship and the list goes on. I would've bought OnePlus 9 Pro by now but experience with 7P has made me decide not to upgrade.
I've installed LineageOS on my phone and never looking back at the buggy trash that is current OxygenOS, I get much better battery life, everything works and apps aren't killed in ghe background for no reason.
When I upgrade my next phone is going to be an iPhone. There are no more good android phones, I'm not using Xiaomi phones because MIUI is a crime against humanjty, Pixels have terrible hardware, Sony is overpriced (1 III is more expensive than 12 Pro Max) and Samsung started putting 1080p screens and plastic on $1000 non-Ultra flagships.

When OnePlus says the number of OS updates, it means for the T series. The 7 Pro launched with Android 9, 7T Pro with Android 10. If 2 OS updates, it means both the 7 and 7T series will get the Android 12 update. This is when it comes to flagships. I don't know about the Nord series because they are new.

GSMarena is for casual uses mostly exactly most people over here aren't using custom ROMS.
This is why you see a lot of guys complaining about lack of official OS updates.

Unlike most smartphone brands that i won't disclose 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭, Oneplus actually listened and extended their firmware and security updates cover.

This was a reaction to Samsung's move, not Apple's, who has always been offering 4+ years of OS updates, and who isn't an Android OEM, and has way fewer models to update compared to android OEMs. Lest I forget, they also control both the OS and chipset, so when making comparisons that want to come out as fair, compare like for like.

And as to the fact that only geeks care about software updates, guess what most people are on this site?
This website is for smartphone geeks and the comment I made was with them in mind!
