And what about the timeline of updates? nobody talking about that. What if they provide major os update after 1 year of release, who will wait for that long? I had a OP6 and waited a year long for Android update and then finally gave up, purchased Iqoo 7 Legend and I never made a mistake as this phone is a beast with best version of funtouch os 11

Good news here. As an 8T owner I'm pleased.
As for shifting to Color OS, no problem if this can keep Oxygen's aesthetics and also add up more useful stuff.

vodny, 03 Jul 2021Exactly. Most people are NOT mobile geeks. They use their p... moreThis is so true, I know folks who couldn't tell you 1 spec of their phones let alone what android version it's running. I'm no geek but I do keep up with tech specs, android, chips etc but I only stopped using my Moto X 2014 earlier this year as my banking app stopped being supported on marshmallow. I bought a Poco X3 NFC based on its specs to price and unlike many buyers because it has an IPS LCD screen which I find much better for my eyes. Like a few folks have pointed out on these comments most Android phones will perform perfectly well for at least 5+ years and unless you download dodgy apps or links from dubious sources will be safe security wise. If you're happy with your phone and it works as intended there's no need to fall for the marketing hype that is only intended to get you to give up your perfectly good phone and buy a new one to make a profit for billionaire companies. Anyways as usual that's just my opinion feel free to agree or disagree. Peace guys ✌️

What about the users of OnePlus 6T? Aren't they your customers? We do need a software updates. I hope the company and developers read this comment and do the need full to the existing customers of OnePlus 6T.

That's what I experienced with my parents. They boast about new features without knowing that it was me who do the updates. Personally, if you never care about features, go for iOS. Even app developers shy away from older Android versions.
