OnePlus extends software support for its smartphones

OnePlus 8 and newer flagships will get three Anrdoid OS updates and four years of security updates.

ONEPLUS DEFINITELY FCK UP & CANNOT MAINTAIN UPDATE ON SCHEDULE BECAUSE TOO MANY DEVICES ON THEIR PORTFOLIO.. . Stupid Oneplus.

    So, my OnePlus 7 Pro won't get Android 12? I think the phone is very capable of running Android 12 despite the bugginess of Oxygen OS 10 and 11.

        Prior to this announcement, and despite OnePlus officially giving only 2 updates, OP phones still got 3 major updates since the OP 3. Even more, the OP 6 series is already confirmed to get its 3rd update to android 11.
        So saying the 7 Series will only get 2 updates is wrong, as OnePlus said the update schedule for phones older than the 8 series will remain as it's now

          If OP can't even deliver a bug free A11 to the Nord what real hope is their of delivering a reasonable A12 build, let alone A13 to the 8's?

            I was having thoughts about switching OOS

                The really sucky thing about this is that OnePlus still sells the 7T. So they are selling a new 7T that has already had one update. That means only one OS update for someone that buys a new 7T from OnePlus.

Tesla has different warranty periods for different parts but it's about 4 years for most things, so I'll just link it here: https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/support/vehicle-warranty. So your statement is not entirely correct. I'm sure there are some that I've missed as well, however, Toyota literally yesterday replaced their 5-year warranty with a 3-year warranty here, and Subaru has also recently reduced their warranties from 5 to 3 years. Other manufacturers have recently reduced their warranties in other countries such as Volkswagen in the US, from 6 to 4 years, so it seems that longer warranties are becoming less common, unfortunately.

                        Hello Life, 02 Jul 2021lol.. remember iphone 6s? including ios 14 it's on its... moreIt's been confirmed that it will get the iOS 15 update too so it's really impressive, but they haven't bought out a phone that I've felt compelled to buy over a competing Android phone, maybe sometime in the future though, when they feature HRR screens (which should be staring with some of the iPhone 13s) and I'm due an upgrade, I've just got the OnePlus 9 Pro a few months ago, so I won't be due an upgrade for any time soon, especially since its support has just been extended to 3 Android updates and 4 years of security updates, which I am happy about, even if it does mean closer integration with Oppo and ColorOS, I'm better off from it as the end-user and I haven't had to pay extra.

                          kek, 02 Jul 2021I think Qualcomm can give you drivers if you pay for it. ... morelol.. remember iphone 6s? including ios 14 it's on its 6th major OS.. it will also probably get ios 15.. .. not only this.. to this day the software didnt boggle it's performance down. if you got a new battery it runs even faster than when it launched. its inside the ipad 5th gen as well.. So what was your point again?

                                    Case in point: SD450. That was a chipset featured on the Galaxy A6+ from 2018. That model went up to Android 10. But guess what? Samsung has another device (A20s) with the same chipset that will probably go up to Android 12.

                                    Same goes for those Exynos. 9611 will get Android 13 on the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

                                      I am still waiting for the Always On Display feature on my OnePlus 6t they did promise a while back.
                                      I'm actually glad that I'll sell that phone, there are very few things that the MIUI of my new one don't have that I'll regret from OnePlus.

Meaning, they supporting 3yrs OS update with 5yrs security update. +1 yr more than oneplus.
