One more time : pop up are NOT my favorite, all I do is to defend diversity and rare techs, and haters like you constantly target the pop up, so OBVIOUSLY I end up writing a lot about them.
They aren't ugly as they are HIDDEN, the Poco F2 Pro is IP53 rated, so much for "biggest hurdle for water and dust resistance".
Plus I never said ALL phones should have pop up, I said SOME phones should have pop up, which mean : if you don't like them, don't buy them, you don't need to try and make them disappear.
But again, sorry for warning people about ACTUAL downsides of the UDC that even this article quoting the Senior VP of the company and trying to make people remove their hype blindfold because once this tech will be everywhere, like the notches and punch holes, there'll be no getting rid of it.

I prefer no front camera at all, or at least pop up/flip up/slider where the camera is hidden when not in use.

Yeah, it's basically saying "we are sorry that camera quality will still suck at this high price, but we still want your money anyway"

I honestly don't notice the punch hole on my Poco X3 NFC and if you really can't ignore it you can hide it with a fake bezel so personally think it's the best solution at the moment. Hope they get the under display camera to work but don't see a problem with the punch hole either.

I prefer better picture quality so I'd take a hole punch over this any day. This will get forced on us some day just like under-display fingerprint sensors. Doesn't matter if there is no value added.

I don't get it. Why not use a popup camera? If it's not a priority it wont wear the motor for many ears and still it will offer superior quality when you need it. At the same time you get the fullscreen experience without seeing the mark of this underdisplay thing called camera.

It is true . Anyone who buys a phone with a camera under the screen has a lower selfie priority.
I hope that in 2022 we will see the widespread use of the camera under the screen

It is expected that Mi Mix 4 was leaning toward finding an immersive full-screen experience as the UDC camera was one of the hallmark features in this phone, hence selfie camera is part of the expenses, same as Axon 20 Pro. It will take a few iterations for UDC to be as good as a punch-hole selfie camera.

It would be great to have a top notch selfie camera on such expensive device regardless of number of time I'm gonna use it. When I pay top $ I wanna to have everything great. And don't tell me that it's impossible.

here we have an executive trying to make an excuse nobody needed for the expected oor quality of UDC because we all already know UDC is still crap and all the comments are "it's fine we don't need selfie cam"
meanwhile galaxy fold3 udc gets so much hate for no reason even though it's not even meant for selfies and you literally have a better selfie camera on the front screen

If you have a 10/10 or 500/500 subscription over the same connection, the ping should be the same as it uses the same system. Only the top speed would vary.
However, 5G and 4G are not the same connection and 5G has a typical ping of 20 where 4G has a typical ping of 30-50. It is because of a process called network slicing that causes 5G to have lower latency than 4G.
