[deleted post]Don't work Max Blumenthal is introducing huge bill on congress it most likely will pass in senste as well and Apple will forced to allow third party app stores.
So in a third party you will have lot of app makers likes Spotify , epic, Disney , Netflix and they won't be subjected to 30 percent Apple tax, so people using this party app Store will pay less and more and more will move to it.

GrahamD, 13 Aug 2021Apple needs to get with the times, ditch their outdated lig... moreI love it when people claim Lightning is outdated and that Apple should move to USB-C and ignoring fact Lightning actually pre-dates USB-C. Not by much (few months), but it still does. And its adoption was superb compared to USB-C which is still being replaced by ancient microUSB on cheaper devices with "costs" as argument. Which is total BS. USB-C should be used on ALL devices by law. F**k it, force it on everyone. I don't care. So that even 50€ dumb phones would use USB-C instead of dumb microUSB and even all iPhones. There is always argument about costs, but if you buy USB-C sockets and connectors in hundreds of millions the extra cost per device should be non existent. Anyone who says it would induce huge markup costs is bulls**tting everyone in the face. How can it add 20€ to cost of device if they buy it for 0.005€ a piece. They'd had to make a 1000x markup on it to get extra cost of 5€. I made these numbers up, but they probably aren't far from the truth even if we move it for single decimal place.

chris1998, 13 Aug 2021It should be a law to include a charger ... OEMs are not cu... morechargers obviously increase electronic waste and there is hardly anything you can do to help, other than just be here and complain about it, so at least do not go against the decisions of brainy people when they asked to remove the charger 👍

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2021Free chargers aren't free, they cost money to produce,... moreSorry to break it to you, they'd only discount the cost of the charger initially, at best. After a while, they'd stop, and knowing people, most buyers wouldn't realise or mind much. They'd normalise the nonsense.
Stupid changes keep on being brought by phone manufacturers, stupid changes that would only benefit them in the long run. Like Apple talking about the environment when their new phones come with faster charging tech that's incompatible with already existing charger. Same as the brick-end of the bundled cable, which is now Type-C, yet you have people defending that.
Talk about Apple saying that USB-C is on course to become universal anyway, yet keep releasing iPhones with lightning port, just to fill their coffers.

Anonymous, 13 Aug 2021Such innovation that other blind donkey companies followed ... moreEspecially in the early days of Android and iPhones, it was Apple that was The trend setter and The reference point for All the other manufacturers. They basically formed the today's smartphone world either intentionally or unintentionally. So, they are partly at fault too.
That's why most Android manufacturers copied (the good things) also the garbage that Apple created. Like the non user-replaceable batteries, elimination the headphone jack, no charger, no micro-SD, boring UX design, etc.

blue sun, 13 Aug 2021Why, if everyone has several chargers at home? Not everyone has the latest fast chargers. It's going to take forever to charge the large batteries of new phones with an old 5 W charger.

Anon, 13 Aug 2021No company who took out the charger actually reduced price ... moreMay be you should revisit your usage pattern. You are ruining your battery's life by repeatedly charging short cycles over and over again, causing more money out from your pocket (apparently you don't care about your own 💰) straight to the landfill for your "old" or may be better put as "forcefully crippled by your ignorance" device.

"Apple has stated that a universal solution would “hurt innovation” and create “a mountain of electronic waste”"
heheh. Only innovation Apple use is marketing departament.
Also I love how companies try to blame users for every problem when THEY put plastic inside plastic in another plastic covered in plastic and try to sell that to us. Well stop wrapping everything in plastic, maybe THEN we would have such problems...
Thanks God Electronic is not like food, where for past few years companies sell products with 2x bigger boxes than product inside...
