For those unaware. There is no physical proximity sensor present in the phones. They are using software to mimic the proximity sensor, which sometimes works many time doesn't. I have mi 11x and its gets really irritating me always, especially at night time when AI can't recognize that I'm putting out my phone on my ear its just shutdown screen if i rotate it 90degree,make me too much disappointed, this is not a good thing kindly fix it, waiting for the solution

Certain screen protectors especially those tempered glass with black edge can affect the proximity sensor. Samsung's ultrasonic FPS also not working well with tempered glass and Samsung recommends film and plastic type protectors.

I bought new mi 10 t 5g and o up of the box I facing awkward issue of proximity sensor which I reported on Xiaomi community then researched myself that Xiaomi mi 10 t 5g doesn't even have proximity sensor . And that's the main reason they are using mic for the placement of proximity sensor and that thing was made just for cost saving purposes . I tried changing protectors and cases but no I was still facing issues during calls my phone screen never goes black during calls and sometimes it goes black and never gets light up again . Final solution was either use it with the problem or sold to some one who only uses it for gaming and multimedia purposes .

The Samsung phones are build in the same way as many chinese manufacturers including Xiaomi. They are even made in same areas and same factories with the same materials. To be fair, the consumers across the globe have paid too much for phones manufactured in China but with a Samsung or Apple label.

I am sick and tired of heari... moreHitting the power button during a call to kill the screen is not a viable work-around if you also use "double-tap to wake" as eventually your cheek will double-tap the screen and because the fingerprint scanner is often embedded in the power button these days, and in my F3's case, it is recessed, which actually makes it easier to press accidentally when making calls as your fingers grab your phone right there usually.

I'll forgive missing or lesser features in a flagship killer like a lesser camera, or even a lesser screen - but there is no excuse for a broken feature, even if it is sold for $50 with very few features.

They all need to work, and this is a core functionality critical bug. This is not something like not being able to change a ringtone, or a poorly colour-calibrated screen, or issues with sound output level over the dongle (as I also had on my F3 until he most recent update) etc.

unintentionally hanging up a call to the emergency services, or to your boss, or to a person that is important to you can have far-reaching real world implications that also can impact other people.

Sorry, but I don't accept that excuse - and I also work in R&D.
