So they just make a trend and everyone follows it. At this point the punch hole and notches aren't even trend. Thier common now and everyone has to sadly live with them. And now phone shave low diversity and while other products have so much diversity. Clothes for example have like infinity diversity. I guess for the time being we have to live with the very few phones that u like or u need and then maybe u can make ur own company lol.

I would be excited but if Vivo continues the stupidity of single speaker with no headphone jack and no IP rating, they're just more slabs of software with giant camera humps and no actual innovation.

Vivo has to scrap their battery policy and increase capacity instead speed chargers

Do you realize that EVERY FRICKING SINGLE OTHER MARKETS than smartphone literally DO have niche products, there are brands entirely dedicated to them, heck there are entire markets only for them, and they are super profitable?
Go to any hardcore aircraft/car simulation hardware website and tell me again about niche that aren't profitable.
If a fricking 9000€+ replica of the overhead panel of a Boeing 737 is profitable enough to be made and sold.
            https://www.fsc.it/Product.aspx?lang=ENG&ID=ec73c981-e32e-4755-814b-ea5741cfa565
            Or a 700€+ hydraulic handbrake.
            https://digital-motorsports.com/collections/sim-racing-shifters-handbrakes/products/simtag-hydraulic-simulator-handbrake
            Or a 1300€+ sequential shifter.
            https://digital-motorsports.com/products/sequential-shifter?variant=38114466398404
When the almost 300€ Fanatec one is already niche and high quality enough while being both sequential and H.
            https://digital-motorsports.com/products/fanatec-clubsport-shifter-sq-v-1-5?variant=30291372998729
While the 1300€+ one literally state :
"Following on from the success of our version 1 sequential shifter we have upgraded the design based on feedback."
How would a phone without front camera, when it is a QUITE COMMON REQUEST (when you are not voluntarily blind to it), be not profitable?
Considering that a phone without a front camera would ONLY need a different display (without hole/notch) from the regular model, it would be super easy to do and cost basically no extra.

Fricking nail clippers have more diversity than smartphones, and such comment is a big reason why.
Is it so hard to just leave the F alone to any non-trending idea?
It WOULD sell, it WOULD make profit.
In fact, if a smartphone brand would start to make a bunch of niche products, it would probably have its profits getting higher than ever.
And NO, the LG Wing is NOT a good example, it wasn't a niche anyone asked about, even niche are something people ask for, it was just a way to flex to try to gain popularity.

No, they sell well enough, which is EXACTLY why Apple make their phones, such as the SE, smaller than other Android phones, where EVERY models except the Pro Max is smaller.
And guess what, the 6.1" iPhone 12 is the most selling smartphone of 2021 so far, and after the Pro Max, the 6.1" Pro is third, followed by the 6.1" iPhone 11.
On the other hand, there are NO GOOD small Android phones, EXACTLY like the iPhone 12 mini is bad for its price but still is on the top 10.
Why you single-minded people think that ONLY A SINGLE THING is what buyers are after?
If the phone is bad, regardless if it matches the size preference, many won't buy it, simple as that.

The ONLY market that have those issues of all products being basically the same despite having a huge diversity potential, not listening/caring about people's demand and having no niche at all being covered, is the smartphone one, why?
Simple because it is the most toxic community where not a single suggestion about something non-trending would be left without useless attack on it.
And guess what, it is a job to actually skim the web and read customer feedback and requests, it also is how investors, who basically order around the brands, make their mind about what sold or not.
Except that when EVERY TIMES someone has an idea, regardless if it is the best or the worst in the world, there is a bunch of people getting their negativity to it, it both kills the idea AND make it impossible to actually tell apart what is genuinely a generally disliked thing or just the toxic community being toxic.
Result : Rather than having to care, they just ALL make the SAME basic models, since there is no alternatives, they just can be lazy and be able to peacefully force what they want into the market.

If tomorrow a big brand would make diversity in the Smartphone market, EVERY OTHER would follow quickly, because they know they would lose a LOT of customers who only bought their products because they had no other choices rather than because they like it.

Non please, maintain thé X séries light...!
Quick charge is enough for autonomy, no need if bigger and heavier phone

Shame the pro plus model will get bigger screens. In my opinion,6.55 inches were perfect, almost compact camera flagship phone

A new discovery: GSMA truncates anything that starts with less-than character and 6, if there's no space separating it and 6.

At this point of time the size still remains unknown, but I don't expect it to match GN2 in terms of the sheer sensor area.

I'm more concerned about its lens sharpness, though - X60 series had such poor quality optics that it produced worse looking photos than X50 series in many scenarios. Looking at the label on the back it seems to have the same F1.57 lens as last year, hopefully this year they have redesigned the lens to get rid of corner softness.

AnonD-909757, 30 Aug 2021A simple mirror on the back is a great, elegant and simple ... moreSuch a smartphone (one without some sort of front-facing camera) would be a very niche device. Do you really expect OEMs to make them? You know that they're for-profit, right? Maybe you'd make it as a personal project, or an OEM might make a limited edition/version of sorts. But that's it!

Just as you hear some clamor for compact smartphones, below 6"—mine lies somewhere within 6.0 - 6.4, with bezels not bigger larger than those of Galaxy S10e—reality is that they don't sell much. At least not enough to warrant the production. Their sale numbers are inferior. Take the iPhone 12 Mini, for example. Then consider that such android phones would even sell significantly lesser, largely because a lot of android users use their phones as their primary media device, reason being that a lot are not so affluent, and want bigger displays to serve multiple needs.

And if sales of compact smartphones are poor, that of no-selfie cam smartphones would be abject. It is simply unrealistic to expect an OEM to make such. They'd rather choose routes that promises better ROI, and understandably so.

It seems that the reflective glass at the back is mainly for looks. At this point, I wonder if Vivo will keep using the Samsung-made GN1 sensor as in the X60 Pro+ or Vivo will switch to the current GN2 camera sensor as the one Xiaomi used in the Mi 11 Ultra.
