I have been using a honor Play for the past two years and I haven't seen any major performance degradations or "lag" ( Still running PUBG and COD at 60 fps) . The phone came with emui 8.1 and got a major update to emui 9.1 and thats it.. No emui 10...and thats what disappointed me the most. Back in the day, they released this phone as a "gaming phone" with flagship specs such as the kirin 970 and 4D game shock (also came with a flagship price tag). Hope I would get the harmony OS Upgrade.. -_-

If it can act as a substitute for Android, less privacy intrusive and better apps support

Lower price...
I may switch to huawei.

I curious see how well harmony os works out since it's a forked android version.
How well are they going to do on software updates, since it forked android what happens to the security patches android releases is it compatible or is Huawei going release patches of their own.
All these very interesting to see.
Are they going Apple route give 5 year updates.

But now!
Pleaze check redmi 10 ,it is not really cheap
We can find better phones in that price really better phones!
Nowadays huawei phones are more expensive than last years because it can’t supply a lot of phones for sanctions
But realme and vivo and zte and oppo and new honor phones are more affordable

EricDVP, 31 Aug 2021Nova 5t under 350$ released with emui 9.1 and now it has em... morei mean security patch not its UI, but ok if its like you said. xiaomi giving an updates to $100 phones like redmi 1s from 2014 with miui 5 to miui 9 thats 4 years software support. new phones like redmi 9 ($130) will get 3 years security patch and 1 android updates. redmi note 8 you mentioned 2 android updates and clearly xiaomi wins because its far more cheaper than huawei..

Y7p under 250$ release with emui 9 and now it has emui 10.1
Honor 9x release with emui 9 and now it has emui 10.1
Honor 8x under 250$ release with emui 8.1 and now it has emui 10
These phones are uner 250$ and they have at least one major updates!
What about Xiaomi? It just release one major update android for redmi note 8 2019 despite xiaomi is not under sanctions like Huawei!
If some phones like y6p and y5p didn’t get major update because these phones are under 200$ and if get updates like 300 and 400$ phones so what is different between 400$ phones and 150$ phones software?

But huawei and honor phones don’t have any bugs or battery drains….never decrease the speed and always have an excellent experience

Hopefully they also include those old devices for the harmony. I bought the NOVA3, not the 3i. Its a bit expensive for 250$. So i think they should also consider this device to receive the updates.

Also can Huawei look into having China made after market car android players switching to Harmony OS. It will be way better than Android with the low end processors and limited ram on those devices currently sold in the market..
