"stifle innovation" - while lightning port delivers 10 year old like speeds. It is a decade behind USB-C, not to mention its versatility.

That's a good decision, well done EU. The fact of opposing a some sort of charging compare to a standard one is considered the number one retarded choice

To be honest in there not only apple but other brands also so you can use old parts and dont need only new. To again for the less e-waste when you can repair with phone parts that being used half a year and then screen broke or what ever other issue in phone.

Hello Life, 15 Oct 2021I say get rid of all connectors. Just wireless Portless phones are the future though. With 3.5 mm Jack gone and earbuds being wireless and wireless charging being fast enough, the lone port can be done away with. Just data transfer can be an issue but there's wifi for that

L.O.R.D, 15 Oct 2021IDK if Apple switching to USB-C will reduce e-waste or not ... moreIt's a bit funny if you think of it that apple started with the e-waste campaign by removing charger. Now if customers need to buy fast charger why should the go with the one that is specifically made for apple if they have choices in every price range to buy new one. Why should cables be any different. They do less e-waste when they go with USB-C. If they would of leave the charger in the box at least then they have argument for the cable port.

Well Apple only options are not to sell their phones in the EU, but they not going to do that are they.
This is stepping stone for EU go even further.
Give it time EU will make wireless charging standard to and that will annoy apple even more.

How is USB-C not innovation ? If it come after this Lightning cable then it's innovation for better cable port. What's there left for Lightning cable port as innovation ? What they have innovated past few years from the Lightning cable ? Isn't this stopping innovation for staying on older system ?
