and like what I said on my orig comment, with shoulder buttons, I don't even need a controller. the phone IS the controller. every single person I demo the shoulder buttons would ball their eyes out in amazement, saying they wish their phones have those
an example use scenario I do is playing PPSSPP emulator games. I literally feel like I'm playing with a real PSP because of the shoulder buttons. yes, real buttons are much better but I have beaten a lot of games and enjoyed the heck of it with the help of extra triggers
so again, you're completely wrong there. definitely not a gimmick. for reference, I'm using the ROG Phone 2

Many companies (many different businesses) have their products made in China because of lower prices. Tons of these products are daily copied and patents are not respected.

Games where one has to press more than a few button at time can be unplayable, unless the phone has extra controls. A gaming phone with it's shoulder buttons address that problem. The ROG 5 Pro even has a second set of buttons / areas for an even better experience

what an ignorant statement. haven't heard of emulators? any Android phone can use one but on gaming phones, it's a totally different ballpark. as mentioned in my prev comment, should triggers/buttons built-in to the phone transforms a phone into a controller. using various emulators, I'm able to play games such as God of War, Megaman X/Z series, and lots more. I'm using the ROG Phone 2. Air Triggers a are drastically underrated and I can never play a game again without it. the only thing stopping me is my phone storage. I can even play PS2 games. so much for "They're is no games on mobile platform that can match even the 10 year old pc/console game"

I owe a ROG Phone 2 and I never would have been into gaming if that is not my phone. you'd be very stupid to think that the advantage pf gaming phones is only about specs. casuals like you only read spec sheets and that's it
shoulder buttons built in on the phone is a game changer. I've been playing games and emulator games such as God of War in PPSSPP and more and if it wasn't for those shoulder buttons, the experience would have been very negatively different.
before you say to just get a bluetooth controller, that's the point: I don't need to. right out of the box I can play console games, albeit via emulators, as if I'm playing using a controller with a gaming phone. can't do that with any Samsungs or iPhones
