EG3Po, 06 Nov 2021Let's get this out: Time to charge between 22W and 25W... moreI can remember such a misleading and wtf comment before. "If you want to replace your phone every year and charge less then an hour, get Samsung, Apple, Oneplus" . Ok 1+, but Samsung and Apple?? What? Literally the slow charging kings, other than Sony.
22w and 25w of max power on 6Pro and S21U is not the same if you've read text, pixel is literally charges 2 times longer, cause it charges at around 16-18w most of the time. Please get your facts right and then already write something.

nanagdad, 06 Nov 2021Cheaper batteries but charging exorbitant flagship prices 😕... moreQualcomm phone has 65W using one battery while chinese phones have at least 2.
Does it mean they use cheap battery compared to Qualcomm phone?
Funny people called battery of some phones cheap, even when LG is supplier. One of the largest battery suppliers on Earth.
Did you notice you do not see chinese phones with fast charging with large capacity like 5500-6000?

Let's get this out: Time to charge between 22W and 25W is not significant. So unless you are an Apple or Samsung fanboy and some logic, mathematically this topic shouldn't matter for you.
If you are stuck on manufacturers incorrect specification claims, you have a point but in this case, the difference is not significant as well.
it's only natural for manufacturers to increase the charging speed as the time to introduce new smartphone models keep decreasing. Right now they're introducing new models every 6-8 months and that's not including all the sub models, all the different versions and all the sub-brand introductions. Basically they're pushing you to change your phone every year or max 2 years.
If you think about that, battery preservation is not that important now for most people. However, for people like me who change their phone in 3-4 years time, it's nice to know that my battery life will be about the same when compared to the time I purchased my phone.
Right now I'm using a Note 9, which was introduced on August 2018 and has 15W "fast" charging. It still lasts a day, every day.
Google should have advertised correct charging speed, yes, but as can be seen from Xiaomi, this is not something new in the market.
If you plan to replace your phone every year or so and you need a phone that charges in less than an hour, don't waste your time discussing here and get a Samsung, Apple, OnePlus etc.
If you plan on using your phone for more than 2 years though, 22W charging will most likely be good for you to preserve your battery for the life of the phone.

as the wireless charger is advertised as 23w i suppose this makes sense for the brick charger to be similar.

Most battles start to degrade after just 1 year.
And by the 2 years a replacement is not a bad idea.
If it's a really good battery it can last 3 years in decent shape but I don't think any more than that.

"google has been known conservative about charging..."
No it's not
It just Google device doesn't have the fast charging tech.
In fact all non-China (apple, google, Samsung) still "conservative"
Only china brand have the "crazy" charging speed

Current is measured in Amps not Watts! Eurgh.
Should be wattage peaks at 22.36W

Preservation of battery is more important than the ultrasuperdupermegafast chargings for me. I have Xperia 5.2, which has even slower 18W charging, and I have literally never experienced a situation where I would need to charge faster since I can just plug phone in charger over night, and it keeps me through the day. Even at 18W it gets somewhat warm which bothers me, heat is never good for internal components.
Google should have provided more accurate numbers but it would not worry me at slightest if I was GP6P owner.
