AnonD-762416, 29 Dec 2021Samsung manufactures almost every single component in this ... morethat is not accurate...Samsung, Apple and others brand buy components from other third party factories for example: Snapdragon's processors, 5G/WiFi modems are not made in Samsung's factories...they have to pay a lot of money in royalties to use those components on each phone....Besides whey you buy a Samsung/IPhone more than 20% of the MSRP goes to marketing expenses...Xiaomi in the other side keep their production costs to a minimun with very few physical stores and have no makrteing expenses like billboards...so those companies are totally apart at retail prices calculation.....

    Entirely a preference thing but - central dots irk me big time. Stick it off to the side where it's easily forgotten. I don't think under display camera's are worth it yet, huge quality drop

      The only way Xiaomi will be able to compete price-wise is by selling these expensive phones at a massive loss or learn to build stuff themselves.

              Also, secondary sensor on the 12 Pro is the JN1 since JN1 pixel binned is 1.28um

                          So the Xiaomi 12 is a downgrade over the Mi 11 in terms of display, resolution dropped from 1440p to 1080p and it's much smaller too. It's also had a downgrade in the main camera yet it's more expensive?

                              Raky, 28 Dec 2021They are, perfectly ok devices...but it will cost cost as m... moreAt launch the Mi 11 was 800€ where I live for the 256GB storage, and seeing the downgrades and lower price of the 12 in China, it could be 700-750€, clearly not the price of an iPhone 13(910€ for 128 GB) or 13 Pro(1160€ for 128 GB).
                              And 256 GB storage options of these iPhones would cost even more, 1030€ for the iPhone 13, 1280€ for the Pro.
                              Maybe prices are different where you live...

                                  With apple at least you're getting 5 years of support and even after 3 years, you still can sell used phone (there is a market for it).

                                    Non pro looks nice, finally smaller phone after years, now make a version without hole in the display, They already did it with poco f2 pro, mi9t/k20 and mix4, so if only they could remmber how they did it.

                                        The SD 870 is not that great, the SD 8 Gen1 seems like a great chip, power efficiency is close to Apple A15 based on Golden Reviewer.
