Weekly poll: are you using 5G on your phone?

23 January 2022
Recently launched phones typically support 5G and many carriers  already have 5G networks. But coverage is far from 100%.

I've a 5G phone but i don't need it since my country doesn't have it yet + i turned off to prevent battery drain.

additional cost for nothing. if only people knew that 5G was made for corporations and businesses and share the cost with consumers

I do use 5G but the thing is that it commonly reaches only the peak speeds of 4G. Sometimes not even reaching it. Yes, it is plenty fast enough for my usage, but why did it have to take the implementation of 5G before we get the peak speeds of 4G?
There was only one time when I got 800Mbps download speed, but it was then paired to a VERY FAST 60Mbps upload speed.

Where I live in the UK they haven't even started absolutely shite, Tesco or o2 ee etc the same only in the city's,

Stupid poll, it should've been 5G is available in my region but I don't have a 5G phone. So I don't have a 5g phone and 5G isn't available in my country, which one am I supposed to choose. This way the poll won't serve it's purpose, but anyway, we all know that 5G is still very limited.

I have a mi 10t pro 5G and live in the UK, where I live I do get 5G coverage, tbh I don't really use it that much, it's nice to have of course but 4G has enough speed for my usage, when I'm out and about I mainly listen to Spotify and a little Netflix but nothing that warrants 150mbps and more, even using 4G I get 40-70mbps, plus I get better battery life using 4G too.

i am usually indoor... most of the time...
4g is more consistent in our area, especially indoors... so despite having a 5g phone, i still go for 4g...

Option 3 and option 5 are both true. I don't have a 5G phone, because i don't need 5G. I bought a new smartphone less than a year ago and the lack ot 5G on it didn't stop me. There were cheaper 5G options but i i didn't like them.

Yes, my carrier has 5G. No, I do not have a 5G compatible phone. Might upgrade to one this year though and then shop around for a 5G plan.

[deleted post]Yeah, China bad. Pakistan will get 5G and high speed rail faster than you guys. Expecting American companies to bring you 5G, lol (They aren't even telcos. Google has a small network in the States but what does Microsoft have to do with 5G?). Just look at the state of American 5G. Really terrible joke.

Yes, I've been using 5G for 2 years and I'm very grateful it's available. In a densely populated area like the one where I live LTE is so bad! It can't cope with the amount of people connected so it used to be sometimes better to switch off 4G and connect to 3G. Even though 3G is technically slower, the fact that nobody was using it made it sometimes faster than 4G...

Litteraly any phone with 200 euros or more will have 5g so if you are in the Europe you want it or not but 5g is everywhere. Different story obviously if you live in Asia or Africa where 5g thing barely exists and even if they do only few people can afford 5g phones there anyway.
