Weekly poll: are you using 5G on your phone?

23 January 2022
Recently launched phones typically support 5G and many carriers  already have 5G networks. But coverage is far from 100%.

Definitely not since there is still no infrastructure for it. I so doubt if 4G will go away anytime soon.

Sadly operator not lauched yet 5g in my country so no 5g. Sad.

Not with my current provider, because they can't deliver. I'm switching back to the main provider in April, and then I have 5g again. But I'm still not impressed by the speed that everyone advertise for! But connection seems better covered, at the main provider here. I have to be in the middle of town, to get 5g now.

            Map is incorrect.
Indonesia just claim to have 5G
But in reality. The signal is no where to be found.

The biggest 5G in Indonesia (telkomsel) only have about 30 Base station
The second biggest (Indosat) only have about 10 base station

gmsarena, check your sources! There's no 5g network in rusia.
Sure, in Russian news all people even in small town have 5g with gps cows etc... but here in $hithole rusia even in moscow there's not 5g. There won't be a 5g at least till 2024. And even in pilot projects you must have a special phone with other bands than in the rest of the world.

I have 5G phone and 5G is available in my country but very very limited and of course not available in where I living so I just have experience of using 5G not using it in reality and every day.

5G was surprisingly done well here in the US (although major dependency on mmWave and C-Band isn't helping consumers that aren't on T-Mobile). I use it from time to time but I'm waiting to see if Sony finally adds mmWave to the non-pro line as well as the rarer 5G bands like 12, 25, 30, and 48 before I fully go into it.

I use 5G here in the Philippines. I get 5G almost anywhere I go in Metro Manila now (but I don't go out a lot because of the pandemic). 4G is very congested here so you have to connect to 5G where you are able to.

If it wasn't $80/month Canadian for a 5g enabled plan for one person, I would have 5g

It feels faster but I don’t bother to check it because why would I care? The deal is better and my phone supports it so I might as well use it.

We have 5G in my country but the coverage is limited and the speeds aren't that impressive yet (As I have seen from friends). My phone has 4,5G (LTE Advanced Pro) support and when they launched 4,5G a few years ago, when I did a speed test, it maxed out the max speed my phone can handle. I'm planning to get a 5G phone soon, we don't have to pay extra for the 5G connection but the unlimited data plan is kinda expensive (About 55 Euro).

My country have 5g networks (very very limited), i can say almost 99% percent area still uncovered. And my 4g phone is still work flawlessly and don't need an upgrade yet. 5G is good, but for me i don't think i Will need it, personally i always connected on WiFi. My daily routines is between office and work and all have a pretty good WiFi.

In places where I'm mostly, 5G is not, though it is in the city, I'm not. But 5G on my phone will be good for the future or when reselling it, so it's not useless feature for sure.
