The last hTC phone I used was incredible S way back in 2011 . It was a good phone and I used for 4 years before I traded it for iPhone 5s.

In my country for example the Honor 50 cost exactly the same like a Xiaomi 11T and more expensive than a OnePlus Nord 2, who both are better in every way. A similar phone like the Honor 50, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G, cost 130EUR less.
I mean why pay more for a Honor phone, just because they want to make a "come back"?
It will probably be the same with this HTC. It will cost more than Samsung or Apple, just because it will be "mainstream".
Not to mention, it is rumored they are still under the influence of Huawei. Even though on paper, they want to look that they are a completely new company. That is why the US government is looking into this matter. If they will find something suspicious, they will probably ban Honor too.

It's going to be a niche phone. Most people who want HTC back is based from their nostalgia back in 2013 or 2014 loving their M7 or M8. HTC also only made phones. They're not like Samsung, Apple, Sony, and LG who get revenue from other industries. So they moved to VR/AR and it became even more niche.
I'm all for it for HTC to return. I owned the M7 and M8. I love their metal body design. I just wouldn't be too excited by these news. They're a dead brand in mobile like Nokia, LG, BlackBerry, and Palm have become. Sony is next..

Pumpino, 02 Mar 2022HTC and LG made the best phones back in the day. Their fail... moreHTC released the One M7, M8, and M9 that all looked the same. The M9 flopped and people complained it's starting to look the same after 3 generations. Then they changed it up for the HTC 10 and it still flopped.
So if HTC kept it the same, people complained. When HTC changed it up, people complained. HTC just never established a good reputation after 2011. Marketing was terrible. HTC was already on the decline by 2012 a year before the M7.

weren't they releasing niche block chain bitcoin etc mining phones a few years ago. Would be great if they make it meta verse friendly now. a very niche phone is the only way for them to sell
