Anonymous, 02 Jun 2022You're trying hard to misrepresent what I said as some... moreI'm not trying to (mis)represent anything. I'm just correcting your utter lack of knowledge about pretty much anything talked here, particularly how R&D, design and manufacturing works. You seem to have no concept of what FABLESS means. Apple is a FABLESS company just like AMD, NVIDIA and ARM. They don't physically manufacture anything. Apple researches, designs products and then hands them over to the actual manufacturers who do this kind of thing for a long time and have required expertise to materialize the designs. Has anyone been parading around how NVIDIA actually hasn't innovated anything just because they never actually made a graphic card themselves? GPU is made by Samsung/TSMC and entire graphic cards are made by board partners like Gigabyte or ASUS. Even Founders Edition cards are not made by NVIDIA itself. They use a certain board partner to manufacture their own designs. I don't see anyone accusing NVIDIA of "not innovating because they don't manufacture anything themselves". Yet here you are screaming about the exact same thing, but directed at Apple. You're utterly clueless and willfully ignorant on top of that. I suggest you stop talking because you're just making a complete fool of yourself. Then again, be my guest and continue...

No one believes your BS hah. The iPhones so called industry leading AMOLED panels are not completely their work, more like just a small a part of the panels' specification is improved by Apple, because as I said before, they just take up something existing and improve it slightly, to take up all the credit on the entire hardware. All the pre-work had been done by someone else, Samsung here for example. Also, Comparing chipset with displays is absolutely dumb.

I guess AMD, NVIDIA and ARM are also nothing because they can't actually make a single chip themselves. Want to know what kind of displays all the... moreThat display is manufactured by Samsung because Apple can't do that themselves, just like how they can't manufacture even a single screw on their own, and require supplier for every component in the iPhone. And that LTPO is an advancement of tech, which itself was made by Samsung (Super AMOLED panel) You can tune a Supra to a thousand HP, but that don't mean anything. All credit goes to manufacturer. Basically what Apple, like always does, is to take up existing tech and tweak it and introduce it as their own

They can't build the iPhone without hundreds of suppliers in Asia. Such is their incredible dependency on others

Just because someone MAKES it doesn't invalidate R&D and actual innovation. If you haven't noticed, Apple is a FABLESS company just like AMD or ARM. Are you going to dismiss AMD's innovation just because TSMC makes it for them and not AMD itself? Same for ARM. They don't manufacture ANYTHING. They just design and develop new ARM CPU cores and license the designs to others like Qualcomm or Samsung. Does that mean ARM doesn't innovate at all? Does that mean AMD doesn't innovate at all? LG makes the displays just because they have the factories to make displays. That doesn't invalidate Apple's involvement in the design of this new display type. Then again, who am I kidding thinking anyone actually cares about details here, Apple bad, everyone else good, reeeee is the usual daily thing...

Every year? Listen to yourself, if something grows hundreds of percentage every year it just means the sales from the start was really small. There won’t be any hundreds of percents growing happening anymore. Only 2.2 million foldables sold Q1 with much lower price and huge marketing. Next Q the numbers will be even less, because no-one can keep the foldable sales going on until flip 4 comes. Also second hand stores are full of these with half the price, it just shows the novelty already fading away. Foldables just weren’t what people expected them to be and i can’t say i’m surprised.

Look https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=Huawei%20p50%20pocket,Galaxy%20fold%203,Galaxy%20z%20flip%203,Galaxy%20s22 even with big marketing, there’s no growing interest, peak happened last fall and after that it’s been very silent.

If apple was any capable of perfection then they would've released it already by now. The fact that they still haven't, after years of foldables being on sale on the market only proves that apple is incapable of making it, just like Google. And when apple finally releases it, it will be just like what's on sale by other brands, nothing out of ordinary

The day Apple release one (if that comes), the biggest limitations have been fixed if it's possible, i'm sure about this. Apple won't release fragile beta product, they have brand name to protect.

Foldables also just might be thing which fades away quickly and companies jump to next thing. I mean there's very small amount of interest towards foldables.
