James, 26 Jun 2022We will see next year,if they remove sd card on s23 ultra o... moreThe S22 Ultra is the first Samsung flagship in years to make it to the top 10 global smartphone sales, so it’s quite clear people are happy with it not having a MicroSD, the S21 Ultra began the no MicroSD trend for Samsung in their S line, looks like they will stick with it.
The Z Fold has also skipped MicroSD and so has Z Flip. If you want a MicroSD Samsung you now need to get either the old Note20 Ultra or if you want something newer get A73 🤣
If anything, Samsung and most other manufacturers are phasing out MicroSD completely, first they have removed it from their high end flagships and then they will phase it out of mid end then out of low end.

The most popular android right now is the S22 Ultra, clearly the market has made its choice. The day Samsung dropped MicroSD from their main flagship smartphone line was the final nail in the coffin for MicroSD in Smartphones.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but we're not using it for decoding the secrets of the Universe or doing string theory calculations where every computational nanosecond counts.
I've got over 20.000 photos on my SD card and the time necessary to get all the thumbnails populated in the gallery is less than a second. I repeat: LESS THAN A SECOND! And I'm not using the stock gallery app.
Why are you in team Android again? Clearly you are an iPhone user.

You're not even a microSD user, your comment on this topic would be invalid anyways.
I've been using it since ages now, to store music, older photos, full movies, etc. and its doing a fine job. Even my 4K60 video recording is on microSD directly.
Why is it so hard to understand that unless microSD card content is read/written, there's no chance of phone being slow? Your other tasks are not affected due to it. Apps don't even stay in MicroSD.
